I've thought something similarly - maybe even a separate advanced stat termed "at-fault INTs" would be fine.

That would make sense like earned runs and un-earned runs for a pitcher

I don't - the way it is is good for NFL stat trackers, gamecasts, etc. But same as those don't show things like DVOA, we can still have those stats and a lot better context as to how the QB is truly playing at a glance.
