Congrats on your victory, guys. Barrett had surgery on his knee and is still expected to play. While the surgery could be minor, it still will not positively effect him. He can't throw to save his life but his running certainly helps. Well, now his running will be negatively effected so his best attribute is somewhat nullified. Enjoy the playoffs, good luck!!

That's like saying "how do first round draft picks ever bust?" Things remain the same; prospects don't pan out. It happens all the time.

70 4-5* players (with the bulk of them being 5* players, the blue chips of the blue chips) is an ENTIRE THREE DEEP. Plus getting the top level specialists every year (which are usually 3*), even if you grant that 25% of them amount to nothing and another 25% are disappointing, that's still an entire 2 deep of the best, most talented athletes in the country. They really shouldn't ever lose.

Best team doesn't always win. As someone famously said, "that's why they play the game". Why is everyone in this subforum so obsessed w/ how everything looks on paper? LOL. I mean, I get the logic but there's that whole human element thing that gets in the way.

I don't have enough faith in Urban to make the right decision and not start a senior for a guy who is more talented and is only a redshirt sophomore. Trust me, I hope it happens as I've been on the Haskins train all season but I just don't see it.

Barrett had surgery Sunday. His availability is a smokescreen. You'll get your guy on Saturday.

I hope you're right. You shouldn't hope for the same lol. Haskins just opens up our offense so much more than Barrett and it's never been more apparent than last week. Michigan was playing press and single high all game, daring Barrett to beat them w/ his arm. As you see, it didn't really happen (w/ his arm). Haskins can beat people w/ his arm and run when he needs to. That will force your strong defense to honor all aspects of the offense. That makes it the smart move to start Haskins but we'll see what happens.

I know I don't need to remind you all of this but it does have shades of 2014 littered all over it lol. Barrett hurt during Michigan then the highly touted backup comes in and..... well, you know :)

Let me stop you right there. This ain't 2014.

Honestly, I was more pessimistic then.  Our oline took a big step forward in those last 3 games.  That said, I agree, I don't see that happening again.

It has nothing to do with our offense either. I just don't see our defense letting something like 2014 happen again. Different team and different mentality.
