The beauty for Osemele is that he could continue with his grievance with the Jets, and then recoup the lost $ for 2020, as well, if the Jets released him in breach of the CBA of a release while injured (I'll defer to the legal guys, but that's what I understood from past convos on this type of situation). Right as a 4+-year service time guy....good call there. They can't really take on the old contract, then. Either way, they can probably offer Osemele a 2-year deal and tell him to go and get the rest of his 2019-20 $ from a grievance from NYJ. Take our money now, get the rest from an arbitrator.
