cortes02
Cleveland Browns Press Release: The Cleveland Browns are happy to welcome Right Guard Gabe Jackson, Right Tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai, and Safety Vonn Bell into the fold. Offensive line was by far the Cleveland Browns weakest position group last season so it was a priority to find upgrades to help protect Baker Mayfield. Obtaining Right Guard Gabe Jackson for a 3rd and 7th round pick was a deal we couldn't refuse. Jackson has been one of the top Right Guards in the NFL for the past few seasons and immediately upgrades the spot vacated by Kevin Zeitler in the trade to the NY Giants. Jackson will help protect Mayfield against AFC North defensive tackles Gino Atkins, Cam Hayward, and Brandon Williams twice a year along with any other top DT's in the league. Jackson is still relatively young at 28 so he will be able to be a big piece to what is hopefully a Super Bowl appearance in the near future. Obtaining free agent Right Tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai was integral to upgrading the offensive line for the Cleveland Browns. With the acquisitions of Vaitai and Gabe Jackson, the right side of the Cleveland Browns offensive line is now solidified. Big V is only 26 years old which will allow him to continue his growth with the Browns for years to come. One of the biggest reasons why the Browns were interested in Big V besides his youth was his versatility on the offensive line playing both Tackle and Guard. Did the Browns over pay for him, yes we did, but we are still happy to have him as a cornerstone moving forward on the offensive line. Obtaining Safety Vonn Bell was a huge win for the Browns due to the safety position being a bit shaky. Bell brings leadership to the secondary along with his ability to create turnovers from his Strong Safety position. At 25 years old, the Browns were surprised that he would be allowed to hit the market but they are ecstatic that he did. Bell Joins fellow Ohio State Alum Denzel Ward and last years 2nd round pick Greedy Williams to potentially form one of the best young secondary's in the NFL. Peace!!! ny92mike
So we have about an hour to make any tender offer sheets on any of the RFA tenders and non-exclusive / transition tags.
