Let's say I double down someone and then after the season decide I want to 3 up them. Am I limited to the contract length or can I give them a multiple year contract based on their rl salary regardless of their rl contract length? If you double down someone they don't become a UFA for you after the season so you cannot 3 Up them. Edit I added the clarification as Double Downs work like 3 Downs and you cannot then 3 Up those players to try and find loopholes to save salary cap. This draft is not going to be what the talking heads think it will be. There is 100% a second QB going in the top 5, if not the top 3. Just a question of which QB after Burrow Miami is comfortable with. The fact that Miami is apparently not sold on either of them enough to keep trying to beg Cincinnati into giving them the 1st pick is definitely interesting though. MD4L
I think the Dolphins will take a QB #3. If they don’t we’re in for a frenzied day one.

If they were confident he was going to be good, they would have given him a long-term deal. Rivers should have absolutely zero impact on their decision to draft or not draft a quarterback this year.
