What was the issue with him?

He came in from Arizona as a box safety, so the consistent lapses in coverage were frustrating, albeit understandable.

His inability to actually make tackles on a consistent basis was the overwhelming issue. When you're billed as a box safety, and you're the defense's most inconsistent tackler by far, there's not much use for you.

Jefferson was not put in a position where he had the best chance to succeed and that did affect his overall performance and the Ravens didn't do themselves any favors trying to make him something he wasn't.

With that said, while being a good teammate and a guy who the coaching staff loves, his play just wasn't good enough and never to the level he played in Arizona. Even his strengths didn't really come to show with us.

^^That's what was most disappointing. Can't blame him too much for floundering in a new role, but he even fell short in areas that were supposedly plus aspects of his game.

Bad signing for us on the field. A really strong off field/LR presence during his tenure though. Nothing but best wishes to him and his family going forward.
