Kyle Murphy done. TT better pick up the phone...

It's become almost laughable. What i don't get is how the reports were that Bhak was super close against the Falcons and now may miss 3 games in a row. Really sucks not allot we can do other than play whomever is best with Bennett stuck to his side all game.

Should have been on the phone 4 weeks ago buying the best OL a 4th or 5th round pick can buy. Injuries have been devastating but TT has done nothing to help the situation. Our OL depth was suspect even before Bulaga's injury, let alone after he and Bakh got hurt.

The issue is they aren't going to make a big splash because we have our starters at OT, Bakh and Bulaga. They are going to try and weather the storm until one or both are back. So there are no big moves out there to be made.

Albert would be the only viable move as they won't trade for any tackle cause the cost will be too high.

Plus it's not like they can just run the ball because the oline needs to be on there game for that and add to that ... the QB and HC will never call a game like that.

Hello to quick rhythm passing with them always moving the pocket.

So we are going to go the rest of the year with Pankey and McCray as top backups? That's idiotic even if Bulaga and Bakh dont miss another down all season. Don't need a splash move, not talking sending a No. 1 to Cleveland for Joe Thomas. But its literally the GMs job to go find a good backup and give up a draft pick if necessary. TT doesnt simply get to take the rest of the year off after the draft and FA...

Wow...Spriggs and Murphy on IR now. Brutal

Some encouraging news is a lot of guys returned to practice today. Cobb, Bak, Daniels, Perry(with a club), Jake Ryan, and Kentrell Brice all worked today. For Perry, this isn't the same hand he injured last year fwiw. He wore the club on his left hand last season - it's the right hand this season.

Looks like House and Bulaga won't be playing on Thursday

No team can afford to lose 4 tackles in 3 games and not have depth issues.  You can only carry so many O-line players and they didn't carry a lower number than usual.

2016 O-line David Bakhtiari, JC Tretter, T.J. Lang, Bryan Bulaga, Jason Spriggs, Lane Taylor, Kyle Murphy, Don Barclay

2017 O-line  David Bakhtiari, Bryan Bulaga, Jason Spriggs, Lane Taylor, Kyle Murphy, Jahri Evans, Lucas Patrick, Justin McCray

While it may not have had the veterans that last years o-line had, MM and TT have done a fair job of keeping the shelves stocked with servicable lineman.

Who would you go after? Viable OT backups aren't out there. Just more McCrays and pankeys. Sure maybe someone with better tools that is super raw... but again that player still is going to consistently get beat.

It is what it is. Aaron makes the money he does to cover up issues like this. They need to game plan and adjust. Hope Bakh gets healthy and stays healthy. Hope Bryan does too, then hope Barclay is better coming off IR.

They can help their tackles by scheming and running the ball more. It's unfortunate but the offense needs to adjust because there is no outside help that is going to make a difference that is a viable at this point.

Didn't say we still wouldnt have depth issues, but its a GMs job to make moves to lessen the blow. To move forward with McCray, Pankey and John as your backups would be beyond inexcusable IMO. Let's see what TT does from here. My gut says...nothing. I hope I'm wrong.

No viable players out there? Cmon man. "It is what it is?" Cmon man. So what exactly is TT being paid for then, other than the draft and FA?

So what players do you suggest Ted go get?   We don't know if Ted got on the phone trying to make a trade or not.  I suspect most GMs aren't gonna trade away viable backup tackles at this point in the season so the only real options we have are raiding other teams practice squads or signing guys off the street.  It really sucks when one position gets hammered like this.   Last year it was CB...  :(

Offensive lines are bad all over the NFL.  There may not be better options available than the guys you had in camp.

Here are a few OTs I found available.

  1. Mike Adams, OT, Bears. Age: 27. star.gifhalfstar.gif
  2. Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Lions. Age: 24. star.gifhalfstar.gif
  3. Gosder Cherilus, OT, Buccaneers. Age: 33. star.gifhalfstar.gif

Not much available that are better than the guys we already have.

"Hey this is Ted, we had some good starters and viable depth at OT, but injuries have killed us, so you should part with either your viable depth or good starters to help us."

See any issue with this? If a team ravaged by safeties called and said 'trade us Brice, you guys have a lot of safeties." No thanks. What team is going to give up good depth at a crucial position for anything less than an offer they can't refuse? This isn't NFL ala carte , you need a team to have a reason to move said players to you.
