Literally just got done watching game tape on him because I had the same reaction lol. You'd think the Packers fans around these parts would be beating the drum for this guy calling him one of the best CBs in the league.

shows you just how unimportant that stat is.  Lets add Sparq scores too, why not ?

But he’s also your only good player. So it’s technically true...

so the Jets should let their "only" (LOL) "good" player hold the team hostage and destroy their cap for a box-safety?

Got it.  I'm sure Joe Douglas will be right on that.

False. You dont win 7 games with only a good safety.

Come on... tell me you didn't laugh at "only" !    He thinks we should destroy the team's cap with a box-safety even though down the road Edge, QB and CB are going to need big contracts.  Way to ruin the future.

You should probably rewatch that movie.

I mean...the Jets don't really have any great players aside from Jamal Adams. I feel like the Jets were the least talented 7-win team ever. Kudos to your coaches and players though, because they obviously play hard and coach well.

yes because coach Gase is so great. O.o  At least you are right with respect to Greg Williams who was able to get the most out of Adams without him being all that responsible in coverage.  SO there's that, as for coaching.  But there's a bit more talent there than you proclaim.  Just a tad mind you.  :)

Because these are the players on your team:

Browns do have a better roster.  Our past GM before Douglas (Maccagnan) was an imbecile.  His mentor was Bill O'Brien.  That should tell you all you need to know about bad personnel decisions on the Jets.  But the Browns failed to utilize that talent and finished well below expectations.  The Jets made more out of their mess than the Browns made from that roster.

I mean, Gregg Williams had Jabrill Peppers and Mark Barron playing at incredible levels at the box safety position at times. I think he terms it "money-backer..." Hybrid safety/linebacker. A little more box-y than your typical SS.

Yeah, I mean Mike Maccagnan should have been gone two years before he left. Whiff after whiff, bad contract after bad contract.

I find it telling that Chicago was not one of the teams he would want a trade to, despite the Bears defense basically only missing a strong safety on an already stacked defense.

Him coming to Chi-town would set up a potential contender for the top defense of all time, but he can smell the rancid dumpster fire that is the Chicago offense all the way from New York.

his list of the hateful eight is complete BS.  He knows he has no say.  The purpose of that was to enrage the fans so as to put more pressure on the FO to move him.  Nice ploy by Jamal.  It won't work.  He's got nothing left but social media whining in his arsenal.

Right and I think this is where the problem lies. Sure he’s asking for early contract demands but he’s clearly the best safety in the league right now and I wouldn’t say it’s it’s even kinda close.

Seems like the Jets team and fan base in my humble opinion has to a degree been deluded to think he’s something less than that. He’s just asking for market value. You can’t let your best player on your roster be this unhappy. It doesn’t send a good message at all

you can't let a player who has 2 full years left on his rookie contract to hold the rest of the team hostage.  Period.  And Douglas won't do it.

Bolded above is false.  He's asking for way over market value. 38%+  more per year than the currently highest paid safety.  He is demanding in excess of $20 million.  Here is the list sorted by annual avarage salary (source: https://overthecap.com/position/safety/)

@candyman93, this is why I have no interest in Adams.

nor should most teams unless they are on the cusp of a championship.  Unless a Championship is nearly around the corner, no GM in his right mind will allocate that share of cap to a box-safety, which is what Adams is, albeit a very good one.  I suppose the rest of the league is going to completely ignore how he has crapped poop all over his teammates in this and also with his "need more dawgs" faux pas last year.  Leadership?  Adams is the anti-Leader pretending to be a leader.
