Tight Ends

If you go TE late, I’m a fan of double dipping....Hock/Jarwin/Fant/Gesecki/Jonnu/Herndon.

I did Gesecki/Jonnu in my 1 main league last weekend and wouldn’t mind doing something similar in my bigger $$ league draft next Saturday.

I was waiting until but Engram dropped to 10th round, so I could passed him up. I drafted TJ Hockenson in 13th as TE2 since Engram has injury concerns. I really like Herndon but I can't just keep two TES. A few reasons why I went with Hockenson

  • Draft capital former 10 pick
  • no rookie TEs produce year 1
  • worked out with Kittle and looks the part with added strength
  • has been getting rave reviews in camp
  • Lions are a good offense with a good QB. Should put points on the board.
  • Head coach was with the Patriots during the Gronk days, and seems to be obsessed with making Lions, the Patriots 2.0
  • Lions might be more pass heavy then run heavy.
  • Other weapons might be on the way day like Marvin Jones/Danny A all over 30

Negative: Nagging Ankle injury. It's said hes been having as great camp.

Hock isn't get hyped by the online FF experts, but I see a high ceiling TE2 who could become a star. I'm high on Hock, Fant, and Herndon in the late rounds.

Well worth the pick, I just scared off by him saying the ankle was still bothering him.

do you like Hockenson over Herndon? Herndon went undrafted in my league

By a hair...Herndon probably 2nd in pecking order for targets, Hockenson probably 3rd.

Its a toss up tho

  • 2 weeks later...

TE's are kind of lackluster this year.. I'm also not a big TE guy and usually never touch them early. Although I really did want Kittle in the 2nd Round this year. I think he might break the league.

Here's how I would grade them, mine are probably lower than most.

George Kittle: Mid 2nd Round

Travis Kelce: Early 4th Round

Zach Ertz: Mid 5th Round

Mark Andrews: Early 6th Round

Rob Gronkowksi: Early 7th Round

Tyler Higbee: Mid 7th Round

Darren Waller: Late 7th Round

Everyone else: 8th Round or later.

I have both gronk and Howard in 2 leagues lol who should I keep and who should I drop

I would honestly wait another week or 2 on Gronk. But I would bench him and look for a good TE to start in the meantime. week 1 is always weird, plus Saints are a great football team. Bucs just off in their game, and Gronk first game back.

There’s goedert , graham,Olsen,uzomah,j.smith Ten, doyle ,thomas

I'd probably take Doyle, Smith and for sure Goedert over either of those guys.

**should e noted that I'd only take Doyle while Burton is out. Then I have to see what that team looks like
