MacReady
I’m planning on updating these weekly, I just got lazy tonight and will finish it later. Gotta love Aaron’s score. MVS probably dinged hard for his two drops I would imagine. I think PFF is full of faults, but I also think it has SOME merit. I am doing this solely to track progression throughout the season. MacReady
@packfanfb, you know I still get to troll you if Krys Barnes becomes some great ILB, right? Because he’s some undrafted nobody that took zero investment.
Gopackgonerd
Barnes even playing at all was the surprise of Sunday to me lol. As far as personell decisions. Jumbled up OL played fantastic all around.
Spartacus
The only one that concerns me a ton is Chandon Sullivan. I hope he didn't regress this year we really need that above average CB play.
pacman5252
The grades don’t surprise me. PFF grades on how often you win your rep, make the perceived right read/decision. This type of system overrates - a guy like Barnes who only played like a dozen snaps and had really easy responsibility (mostly playing down hill) - historically it overrated Tramon and deeper corners. T Will rates as a top 20 corner several years, but even off will admit it’s because he was never going up against higher rated wrs -It also underrates the freaky high variance players like MVS. Not many players can win get open deep like him, but he messes up consistently Edited September 16, 2020 by pacman5252

Packerraymond
Elgton Jenkins and Aaron Jones scores are laughable.
Beast
We need to upgrade CBs and DTs next off-season. Also get another young OT option.

It’s within the realm of possibility. Considering every single play is examined and scored, I’m willing to accept that Jenkins may have had a normal game with mostly good play. Same with Jones. Are you willing to go back and look for yourself? Because I would be interested in counter opinions to the PFF scores. Or, did you pay particular attention to either player throughout the game? Because this is a grade purely for the first week of the season. Could Jenkins have played a stellar game with maybe one bad play that brought his score down? Could Jones have left some yards on the field? Savage’s score seems appropriate considering the number of times he let receivers get behind him in spite of his speed. Without having paid particular attention to really anybody in the game, I think the ratings seem within the realm of possibility. I am doing this whole thing so there’s a record of weekly scores but also a record of progression and regression, if either occurs.

What does this have to do with a week 1 score though? That he switched positions has no bearing on his rating for one week. A 70 on PFF is right around average for the league. Actually, for a guard, a 60 is an average game. Is it not plausible that Jenkins played exceptionally well for the majority of the game, but had a couple plays where he got beat?
