Week 9 GDT - Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers

J-ALL-DAY

We've got some dead weight to get rid of this offseason. Ignoring the PS guys called up, but Mullens, Bethard, Trent Taylor, Skule, Compton, Street, Harris, Jamar Taylor are all on borrowed time

Its not a big deal since he's a UDFA, but i thought Hasty would look better than he has. He was outplayed by McKinnon handily tonight

I wouldn't be sure about Jamar Taylor. I would assume that we tender Mullens unless we keep Jimmy.

The rest should be gone, though I'm sure some will be back

I want to see Aiyuk and Richie James start next game together.

Aiyuk Samuel & James should be our top 3 WR's.

I can't imagine Bourne having that much value in FA, it would be awesome to get him back as a clutch 3rd down/redzone target.

Draft a slot guy on day 3. Let Jauan Jennings, Jalen Hurd, and some UDFA next year fight for the 6th spot

Also, i gota say. We're only guaranteed 16 days a year where the Niners play football. I look forward to it all offseason. As a diehard, it sucks when more than half of these are going to feature our C team losing or getting blown out.

I'm just hoping we're competitive the rest of the year, and want to see continued growth from our youngsters/future pieces. And, ignoring any football moves to make in the offseason, that our medical department gets a complete overhaul. But LIS, since we only get 16 of these, i'll keep watching no matter how bad we are

I will say I find it weird how we throw the ball down field more with Mullens then we ever do with Jimmy. And Jimmy has the better arm between the two. Not that Jimmy's is any good lol I don't understand kyle. Maybe it's Jimmy's ankle the reason we don't but just annoying

Was Brunskill playing C? I'm assuming Grasu was injured? If so, its just hilarious that the guy most suitable to be our backup LT couldnt play because he was needed as our 4th string C lol

I questioned this before the game, but at the same time, Wtf were they supposed to do on a short week when our LT gets put on the covid list two days before?

This shows why we probably didn't even seriously consider trading Williams. We would be cooked on offense for the ROS without him

I agree with your post about all of the dead weight except for Mullens. I am totally fine with Mullens being QB2 for a rookie, for Jimmy, or for any veteran/stop gap we have next year.

If we keep Jimmy, we have to keep Mullens also because we are always going to carry 3 QBs. We have had too many injuries etc there to only have 2 guys on the roster. Kyle has been through the ringer with QBs here. Wish good ole @y2lamanaki was here to give us an exact break down of how many consecutive starts each QB has given us since Kyle got here, but long story short - it's ugly

In my mind this was our first preseason game this year. LOL all the backups played. I'm excited to break down some mckivitz film. The crazy thing is if we had Trent Williams and aiyuk we probably would have been ok. Would have still lost but we would have been ok.

Mullens is fine. He had some terrible moments but he always got right back up and was ready to play the next snap. He was throwing the ball down field more than I have ever seen him.

I have been waiting for us to start throwing it down the field all season. We need to attack these safties on the back end more frequently. Would open up the whole field.

The packers decided not to let us beat them on the ground, and then skule couldn't pass block anyone. They won't be able to do that to us the next time we play them, which won't be until 2022 in lambeau, unless we play them in the playoffs next season.

No excuses in the NFL but I think we get an unquestioned Mulligan on this season. I don't think anyone around the league feels bad, but they also don't respect us any less than they did 9 months ago, which I guess, is something

If we get a franchise QB out of it, 2020 might actually have been worth the bull**** LOL

Yup. Just gotta make sure to lose gracefully before the clock hits triple zeroes. All about that high draft pick now. Retreat, get healthy, and come up with a new plan.
