In the 6-14 range it does get a little murky but three guys that I think have definitely cemented themselves there are Davion Mitchell, Scottie Barnes, and Keon Johnson. After those 3 though it really is just a complete crap shoot.

I like Sengun the most I think.

I get his playstyle isn't the most desirable but being that productive and efficient in such a challenging league bodes well. He has clear strengths that will translate to the NBA. I could see him being a player who if you embrace them and lean into his strengths he can be very, very good. Like play him in drop coverage on defense (his blocks/steals are very encouraging and players with his IQ inevitably turn into at least decent defenders) + have him in a motion offense where he can pass from the high post a lot. I think if you put him in a motion/ball movement offense + a defense that doesn't switch centers you will be in business.

When players are very young, have very high fg%, very high ft%, very high assist rates, and get a lot of blocks/steals - to me those are all major metrics for success.

So he's essentially Jusuf Nurkic?

This would just make me puke as a Pistons fan.  I still would lean Suggs over Johnson even with Hayes but man it would be super disappointing to drop out of the top 4.

I was the leader of the Hayes fan club last season, I still think he'll be very good. Went with Johnson there because I think Hayes and Suggs are too similar and you guys are just starting a major rebuild. Johnson is raw but his shooting mechanics look fine, he has plus athleticism, and he'll be a plus level defender. I've seen him compared to Latrell Sprewell and a smaller Jaylen Brown, that's not a terrible player to grab.

I agree but I also am not a fan of drafting for need unless you have multiple guys rated really close.  I still think Suggs is a top 4 talent in this draft and you just add that type of talent.  Johnson is just an unexciting pick that might turn out but even if he is Latrell Spreewell, he doesnt change our franchise.  We need one of those top 3 guys IMO or we just get stuck back in that 7-14 pick range for the next 4 years unless Hayes has crazy development.

I think Suggs ceiling is probably a Jrue Holiday type of player, a good 3/4 but not someone who will ever be a star. Johnson is definitely a riskier pick but with that risk you also have the potential reward of a 20+ ppg scorer and plus defender if he pans out.

@beekay414 in that scenario would Cleveland be letting Allen walk or do you think Mobley/Allen can play together?

I think Mobley moves well enough to play the 4 next to Allen once Love's gone. Won't clog the paint on offense either IMO. Think Mobley can play a more perimeter based offensive game, like Nance and Love evolved into.

Defensively, they'd be a nice pair to cover up for their backcourt's shortcomings.

I'm excited for the lottery, the league will probably throw Toronto a bone and give them Cade.
