How do you figure Wilson drops that far in the draft?

Just based off teams who might take a QB who are ahead of them right now

ATL go defense/Fields if he drops

CAR sticks with Teddy

Dallas keeps Dak

Giants, Lions, and 49ers stay atleast one more year with current QB

Denver stays with lock

Minny take Trey lance to learn under Kirk for a season

and the Pats still love Stidham for some reason so Bears go with wilson at 17 considering nothing changes in the draft order as of now

New York Jets - Justin fields

New York Giants - Daniel jones

Chicago Bears - Trooooooobs

Washington Snyders - Matt Stafford

Pittsburgh Steelers - big Ben

New Orleans Saints - Sam Darnold

Wentz is my gutsy one. I think Indy makes the most sense, but BB could 100% pull that off too

New York Jets: Sam Darnold ... I think this is the smart play for them. They could pick Justin Fields 2nd overall in the draft, but Fields will take some time to adjust to the pro game even if that's the case. A better move would be to trade out of the #2 pick and just go BPA all around.

Detroit Lions: Matthew Stafford ... This one is the toughest call out of all the incumbents because I do think the possibility of an amicable divorce is real. But I think ultimately the Lions will pick continuity over a full tear-down. Getting rid of Stafford would just mean giving themselves another hole in the roster to worry about.

Denver Broncos: Zach Wilson ... This is the year John Elway finally gets his QB. He won't need to move up very far, but I think he's prepared to mortgage the future to get this guy.

San Francisco 49ers: Marcus Mariota ... This is my biggest wild card. I think the Niners will have Justin Fields fall in their laps with Denver leapfrogging them to take Wilson. But Fields won't be ready on day 1, so they'll sign Mariota as a stopgap. The scheme fit is there, and the continuity will be there once Fields does take over.

New England Patriots: Kyle Trask ... Belichick will make a push to trade for Stafford, but decide the price is too rich for his blood. So having lost out on Wilson, he'll do what he normally does - trade back a few picks and have the next most polished QB prospect fall to him.

New York Giants: Daniel Jones ... I think Joe Judge will opt for continuity and give Jones another year to iron out his turnover problems

Chicago Bears: Jimmy Garoppolo ... A return to New England is possible, but Garoppolo is a depreciated asset and the Pats will probably not offer him the kind of deal he'd want after his big payday with SF. So he'll opt to come play for his hometown team after they miss out on a top prospect.

Washington Snyders: Cam Newton ... Cam is healthy. That hasn't been the problem for him in New England. He just hasn't been able to adapt to the scheme here as well as we'd hoped. That won't be an issue under Ron Rivera and Scott Turner. And he'll have much better targets there.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Jameis Winston ... Roethlisberger is looking an awful lot like late 2014-model Peyton Manning right now. I'm not sure he's long for this league.

New Orleans Saints: Taysom Hill ... They paid him big bucks and went 3-1 with him running the offense. They're pretty much stuck with him, given their cap situation for next year.

My guess is that since Mike Zimmer is still going to be here next year, they will just roll with Cousins.  Zimmer isn't going to want to spend a first round pick on a QB.  That's ok, because I'd rather wait until the time comes when we get a new coach and let him pick the new QB.  Having said that, if the Vikings did decide to take a quarterback in the 2021 draft, I would really hope they would go for Wilson rather than Lance.

Oh man.  I never thought of that, but that would definitely be a Belichick thing to do.  The only problem could be Wentz's work ethic.  He was reportedly not taking things too seriously in Philly after he got paid, and that wouldn't work in New England.  If Wentz would be willing to buckle down and perfect his craft, New England could be a great place for him to go though.  Good idea, Forge!
