The search for a new Head Coach

I personally do not want a defensive HC. The game is geared towards great offenses now, that is just a fact. It's easier to find a quality DC's as they are not in as high demand as their offensive counter parts for HC jobs.

If you want a high quality OC now, you have to hire them as head coaches.

With the rules the way they are, you're not going to beat Mahomes and Herbert consistently with great defense and an average offense. You need a great offenses who can score with them and keep them off the field.

Buffalo had a great defense and couldn't stop Mahomes when it mattered. It took an all world perfomance by Allen to compete. That is what the game is now.

I somewhat agree, I think you need to have an opportunistic defense that forces turnovers and gets sacks. This is why Harbaugh is the number one option because he brings offense and Fangio. Both Mahomes and Herbert have shown that they’ll make mistakes if pressed. As good as the Raiders defense was this past year the area they failed at was sacks and turnovers. They led the league in pressures but it didn’t translate to turnovers.

I know I’m going to get flack for this but I think the 2016 squad was better on defense than this year’s. It felt like at the end of the game someone was going to make a big play to seal the win. This year it felt like we needed the other team to run out of gas.

When was the Raiders defense good this year? I can't fathom this argument. Worst redzone D for 30 years, smashed when they played good QBs and feasted on some terrible ones with extremely low turnovers.

It was a below average unit.

"Good" in comparison to how poor they were the previous year. You find that with Raider fans, things have been so bad the last 2 decades that even a marked improvement and a little success, they overrate it. See Rich Bisaccia, Gus Bradley and the defense. Some wanted to keep Mayock for hells sake because he hit on like 4-5 out 23 draft picks.

Raider fans have really lost sight of what "Commitment to Excellence" is all about.

yeah, idea that an 77% red zone failure rate is in any way good. TDs given up on 8/10 drives, for context best in the league New Orleans is 43%.

Staggeringly bad. It is why the Chargers should have gone for 2 at the end of the regular season game

A small detail in the grand scheme of things, but MIGHT affect us in relation to the Harbaugh stuff.

Looked like that job was Leftwich’s, but he doesn’t want to work with Baalke so Khan might have to bring in someone like Fangio who would.

Completely supported by what happened in GB.

9ers have a top 5 coach in the league and it's not like GB has a stellar record in the playoffs.

But sure, let's use a one off example and ignore the fact that offense dominates the game now.

Jimmy G couldn't pull a shocker that obvious, and he's dating a porn star.

Top 15 defenses in PA, 10 made the playoffs. Top 15 offenses in PF, 11 made the playoffs.

It's almost like both are important.........

Carry on....
