Nets with so many reckless and sloppy close outs. They can't handle any dribble penetration with their guards and it just kills their defense. Tatum was special but they badly need Simmons. Brown is a good defender but he's too small for these big wings. Those double teams Udoh called were also a nice adjustment in the 4th quarter as it led to some bad shots for the Nets and some turnovers. Also, not sure why Nash sat Curry for so long.

Either way, really nice game.

Yep and that’s why he sat out Curry long imo.

Close outs were terrible today. That Brown dagger summed it up.

Simmons defense on Tatum would’ve been huge. That said, if it takes for Tatum to have these performances to just about beat us then can’t really complain.

It's not just about Tatum's performance. He has special offensive performances all the time but the defense was undisciplined and flat out bad. Simmons will help but he's not fixing it on his own. Durant plays much better defense in the playoffs so the Nets got that going for them but Nash is going to have to find some line ups that can play good enough defense while not taking a big step back offensively.
