DizzyDean
Here is the question for all of those calling for Hue's head on a pike. Who do you propose to replace him with that will REALISTICALLY sign with Cleveland that will be an upgrade? We already have the reputation of being quick with the hook when it comes to firing everyone, coaches and management in one or 2 years. Do you think a proven commodity will come to Cleveland with that reputation? Do you think any up and coming coordinator will come to Cleveland with that reputation for their first shot at being a HC? Its time to suck it up and realize that we are who we are, and our owner has made our bed, now we have to lay in it. We have to give this regime, both coach and front office, a full 4 years as long as they can co-exist. Yes, we can tweak it here and there, but no tear it down and start from scratch again. We might as well stay the course

I'd have paid good money to be a fly on the wall as he took a dump all over Haslam, Pettine and Farmer.

buno67
The only way a coach comes to Cleveland to replace Hue IMO is if you give them control of the draft and roster. You give a coach the likes of Myles Garrett and the other decent young talent on this team and 5 picks in the first 2rounds. It’s going to be extremely enticing for someone to come here. IMO the browns could get a coach but not a legit GM or a GM and not a legit coach. Also so there is no magic formula for this team. To me the answer for this team is time. Time for players to develop and time for the FO to develop the roster. This pig was covered in so much lipstick we had no idea what color it was. For years and year the Browns tried to take the easy way out, tried to luck themselves into winning. For once they are taking the road less traveled. Sashi and Hue might not be the ones to reap from this plan but it was something that was needed.

Even complete control of the draft and roster would not get it done for a top candidate when they (rightly so) believe that if they don't provide immediate dramatic results, that they will be fired the very next year. You wouldn’t get fired after one year unless you’re as incompetent like Chud was.

Its called pattern behavior. No coach is going to feel secure in coming here with that pattern, and no one can blame them. Its where coaches go to watch their careers get set back decades, if not completely killed.

If the Browns would of won a game or two earlier in the season, Hue's job would be fine IMO.

He went from Jason Campbell to Carson Palmer and produced exactly 0 additional wins, running the same offense from the year prior but drastically improving the QB position. Adding talent at the QB position has not historically made Hue produce more wins. That is the sign of a bad coach. Hoping he becomes a good coach with more talent is a dream without precedent. Do you know what happened? The team was 4-2 with Jason Campbell. He got hurt mid-season. They traded for Carson Palmer, who was literally retired at the time. Carson Palmer didn't know the playbook, wasn't that good, and was interception prone. Their season fell apart because Campbell got injured. You sound like an idiot when you act like Palmer was so gift from god. Jason Campbells injury cost that team a playoff spot and screwed him out of a job. Ego and opportunity. The number one pick and a shot at a guy like Darnold, 5 other top 65 picks, the youngest roster in the league and the most cap space to work with. This job has it's downsides, most of its sides are downsides in fact, but there definitely an opportunity. All that said , if I were a coach there's no way I sign up to work for a guy if he fires his 4th coach in 5 years. I'll keep being s successfully coordinator.
