Burks and Wilson in that order. I also like the Metchie kid from Alabama as a 3rd round or later prospect. Olave I’d take in the second. He’s more fluid and consistent than he is explosive.

Thank you once again for excellent posts.

My best guess on the geeks they due draft a few players to replace some of the expensive vets.

A good example draft a tight end to replace Hooper.

Patella tendon is a pretty serious injury to return from.  Do you think Conklin will be able to return to his previous high level of play?

Excellent no I do not.

That said if we go offensive tackle like the kid from Alabama and Conklin heals who wants a All pro tackle playing on a under priced contract.

These are some steap mountains to climb

But that would surely get us a day one or two pick.

Berry has done a excellent job in that range.

If you are the Jets would you trade down if Cleveland offers Conklin plus a are first.

The smallest of sample sizes.

Not sure I want to jump on the Harris bandwagon just yet.

Against one of the best interior DL in the league, and if we are going off of the sample size argument, the kid from Iowa has no sample size :)

The point on these picks.

Is that Mykes would get a legit 10 sack guy not 3.5 we got from clowney that we could use to sign 2 middle of the road wrs

Clowney has 5 sacks + pressures and he also plays elite defense against the run.

I’d take that over average WRs catching passes from a below average QB.

Excellent post but there will be a elite end that will outperform Clowney right out the box.

Plus I already have 16 wide receivers that would be upgrades over every wr we have.

A good example last year we could have had Brown on are team that move could have put us in the Super bowl.

This year we could have added DeSean and Perriman.

These are just eg of good veteran add ons.

I think people are putting too much emphasis on Clowney’s sack number.  He’s been really good this season.  Great against the run and has gotten lots of pressures that have helped others get sacks.

He’s earned his paycheck imo and should be retained.

If we’re looking to trim salary, start trimming the fat, not the players who are actually playing well.

So much this. He has been exactly what was needed at the other DE spot.

I hope they bring him back and he stays around for a few years.

Tough question because you're pitting BPA against positions of need.

IMO Linderbaum and Hamilton are the clear BPAs, but Hamilton's best NFL position is probably similar to what JOK does for us. I think pairing them could be INSANELY interesting, so since Hamilton is a likely top 8-10 pick I went with him personally. Linderbaum is a beast, but Tretter is still doing fine holding down that fort. I could go with him for sure. Leal is interesting but not as much as those two IMO (though, admittedly, we need up the middle pressure badly).

Wilson is the obvious choice who fits need and being a top 10-15 player (IMO). Jameson would be a solid fit too.

Talking about drafting as a strategy

like drafting linderbaum plus the picks treater brings back plus

the salary you save
Evan Neal you save 14,000,000 plus you get a more athletic tackle.

You could then overpay Gallup all these moves increase are team

plus puts resources where needed

I always am for drafting BPA, which I think Linderbaum would be where we will be drafting.

Residual benefits also impressive as you noted.

Great post, Mike.

Great post, Mike.

No worries

Question how are you grading your defense is it better than Baltimore and Steelers.
