i dont know another coach that has more unwarranted media hit jobs than Kingsbury in the last few years, even criticizing his house was in good fun.
5-10, 8-8, 11-6, they picked number one in his first season, people are expecting the superbowl already? theyre trending up every year.
Media panned his hiring and they will keep going.

this might be why

won 10 out of the first 12, got in the playoffs and were exposed by a better team across the board, i dont see the failure there.
they over achieved last season and set high expectations because of a number one pick, a pick they took a risk on and hit.
better than losing 13 out of 16 with their previous coach.

I think the questions originate from: Is this the guy that can take them to the next level?

I mean, he's been roughly a .500 coach going back to his days at Texas Tech.  While I do think a LOT of the blame falls on the FO.  Last year, they drafted Zaven Collins, Rondale Moore, and Marco Wilson with their first three picks.  Only their 4th round pick, Marco Wilson, played in 50%+ of the snaps last year.  Their FRP (Zaven Collins) played in 20% of the defensive snaps and their SRP (Rondale Moore) played in 37% of the snaps.  Their '20 FRP Isaiah Simmons only played in 34% of the snaps his rookie year.  Their 3rd round pick that year, Josh Jones, played in less then 5% of the snaps during his rookie year.

Its the track record of fading in the 2nd half of the season.

Texas Tech:
• '13: lost 5 of 6
• '14: lost 4 of 6
• '15: lost 4 of 6
• '16: lost 6 of 8
• '17: lost 6 of 8
• '18: lost 5 of 5

Cardinals:
• '19: lost 7 of 9
• '20: lost 5 of 7
• ‘21: lost 5 of 6

Wow, those numbers are startling.  He appears to be cursed in the second half of the season in perpetuity.

I get that, but i think his lack of success in college is predisposing public opinion, those texas tech seasons are irrelevant to his job as the cardinals HC. I find it amusing that a bad college coach is finding success in the NFL while some great college coaches like urban, chip, spurrier, bombed out so badly. If the team craters next year that bodes badly for him, but until we see that he shouldnt be in the hot seat at all .
