Trade rumor/suggestion thread

I love getting Payton. We gave up nothing to get him, now we have an actual NBA sized point guard instead of running 2 midgets out there, and we get 2 months to see how he fits next to Booker.

His qualifying offer is for $4.5 million next year, so there's probably a chance he takes that if there isn't a long term deal out there for him. I'd also feel comfortable offering something like 2 years, $14 million for him.

Vlade Divac showing yet again how utterly terrible he is as a GM. Not really his fault, he has no business running a team but Vivek just handed him the job. Dude is the worst at asset management

None of the moves he made today really affect the timeline or future of the club but it's a good reminder of how bad it is to have him steering the team through their rebuild. What he did today was turn 2 1st rd picks(one of them a lottery pick) from 2016 and $20 million in cap space into Bruno Caboclo, 2020 2nd rd pick from Miami(likely mid 2nd), and saved $9 million on next yrs cap(which would be more if he never overpaid for Hill in the first place)

Papagiannis is bad at basketball so getting rid of him isn't the issue, but just a few months ago Vlade picked up his option for 2018-2019....only to them waive him today. It's nice to throw money away

Instead of using their valuable cap space last summer to take on a bad contract and net desirable assets back(like the Nets did with their trades for Russell and trade for Demarre Carroll), Vlade opted to overpay on veterans....only to then dump one of them 6 months later to get out of the contract. He didn't even need to move Hill at the deadline if this was the best he could get. Could have just waited until the offseason when he'd be an expiring and try again for something better than a 2020 mid-2nd rd pick.

Cavs become buy-out fits/buyers for anyone that can protect the rim.

DJ would have been a great fit. Too bad they couldnt make something work.

Clippers wanted that nets pick and cleveland did not want to give it up. I was so surprised how much Cleveland was able to improve without giving up that pick. That was very Griffen like. He did learn from him.

Highest pick we can trade #16, #31, top-3 protected next years Suns 1st, unprotected MIA 1st in 2020, Bucks protected 1st for?

Only player I want for this is JJJr. (well Ayton and Doncic too but doubt that would be possible). Also I'm pretty sure we are going to waste some of these picks in trades for vets anyways so might as well go all in on another top 5 guy this year.

JUST KNOW THIS WASNT THE OPINION OF A FANBASE

BUT in all fairness , Rozier at that time wasn't even getting consistent minutes and was struggling with his shooting. Sometimes you are only as good as the opportunity you get. Rozier took full advantage when Kyrie went down and BLEW UP. NO ne was expecting tis kind of metamorphosis.

Now Boston has good problems at PG.

Not even an exaggeration. Celtics fans have been knowing what Rozier would become and what he already was in a limited role. Not common at any point for anyone to say Rozier would be traded for an inferior guard, of all things. Maybe a package deal Rozier would have been included in to get a guy like Kristaps Portzingas or Anthony Davis.

Fans and Boston media including members within the Celtics organization itself had been adament that Rozier was a raw player in college athletically but the progress was observed over the last two years. Most fans of the Celtics were actually waiting for Rozier to get his shot to start and looking forward to it because we were all expecting him to do what he has done now.
