IMO, we're looking for a TE who is cheap, can add a little in the passing game, and is a high-level blocker. Woerner cemented himself as a top 5 blocking TE this year, according to PFF, which is why Dwelley was relegated to the 3rd TE spot. Woerner looked pretty decent in the passing game during the pre-season, but didn't really get many targets at all in the regular season. Either they're comfortable with Woerner being the #2 TE and hoping he unlocks a little more progression in the passing game, which then means we'd most likely be looking for a cheap blocking-first TE in FA (Eric Saubert) or a draft pick.
