Sounds impossible to me.

And who's to say that all of those players are even WILLING to agree to renegotiating their current player contracts?

This is typically built into their contracts.

Please explain that what that chart means in simple form (I'm not an expert chart reader).

Please tell me how much available Salary Cap Space all of those moves would free up?

In other words, you're too lazy to try and read what he posted?

It's only impossible for you to believe because you listen to the talking heads that say so.  Not to mention, most contracts have an auto-restructure as part of their contract.

Just so everyone is clear, the Cowboys cap for 2022 is fine because they have a bunch of players with big base salaries and future years already on the books. Green Bay has almost none of that. The chart above has exactly one player being restructured because restructure does not apply to anyone else on that list. The Packers have ZERO control over how these players rework their deals.

Besides Clark (already reworked) the standard player contract restructure line is about as important as cheese hats or fake team stock when talking about Green Bay's 2022 cap.

Pretending any of those players can be forced to help the Packers without agreement is just pretending.

Lazard who will be a 5th year RFA will probably get the 1 year 3.9m at 2nd round tender and even then another team could steal him. Demand for him at original tender would be high. They have to buy him out of being a UFA next year. He's not there to do them favors and cost himself money. Kendrick Bourne just got 3 years 15 million last year and Lazard on GB > Bourne on SF.  (not a knock on Bourne in NE who had a pretty good year)

You are right that GB has fewer options on basic restructures.

Lots of player cut /trade options to get under the cap should they decide to go the rebuild route.

FYI, Michael Thomas just got restructured.

He was 15.35 8.9 .250 .200 for 24.7

He has 2 years left after this and they will likely add 2 voidable years.

In a day or two this will give us a baseline for how much money can be pushed into voidable years.

Note: Voidable years are fake years at the end of a contract used to spread some bonus money

So basically the NBA stretch provision but without having to cut the player? Unavoidable dead cap in future years?
