Agree. Everybody keeps saying GB downplays or undervalues the position - but having an impact ILB or two CHANGES the way a D plays.

There's a big difference between "commit significant resources in terms of cap space or draft capital to go get an ILB that you hope will can a good player for you" and "spending on a guy you know can be a good player because you've seen him do it."

It's possible the Packers never paid an ILB all these years because they didn't have one fall into their laps.

Right - or they never recognized the skill in a younger player and went and got him.

Well, it is a distracting and maybe fun game to play to look back at the past drafts and try to spot a linebacker the Packers could have picked who was both
-Good
-A better choice than who the Packers took.

Like you could say they should have taken Patrick Queen over Jordan Love, but Patrick Queen has not played well at all.

Can't imagine Adams would be that concerned over the "structure" of the deal unless this pertains to the amount of guaranteed money. As for length, I'm sure the Packers are looking to tie Adams to Rodgers so they probably have offered 3-year deal. Adams might be looking for more years so he's not looking for a new deal in his 30s.
