Rodgers reportedly coming back

**** Aaron Rodgers and **** Brian Gutekunst! Both need to go!

Again, he didn't lie because he hadn't signed the contract at that point. What an *******!

Who can blame Adams for not taking a dime less than he can get out of a team.

This is a franchise-crippling contract. Yes, we will win the NFCN while he plays, but our team won't be able to improve via FA with that contract.

Depends on two things:

  1. How much the cap goes up in the next 2-3 years (supposedly, it is going to explode)
  2. When 12 retires. If that happens in the next 3 years, the Packers basically have to suffer for one year, absorb what's left on the deal and then it's gone.

1. Until that happens, we're screwed.

2. With no quarterback of the future and ZERO additional Lombardi Trophies, but at least Rodgers got to retire a Packer. Also, that one year of 'suffering' is likely going to cost us a few young players we can't afford.

Should have sent his *** down the road 4 years ago.

What are you a Bears fan or something?  I mean really dude get off of it.

I'm a Bears fan because I can see reality? Reality is there is no additional Lombardi's coming our way BECAUSE of this contract and we mortgaged our future for a quarterback/GM.

Details coming out on Rodgers' new deal:

About $18m cap savings in 2022. Puts us at around $5m left to clear by tomorrow.

$42 million in 2022, getting his cap hit down to 28 million.

I'm guessing:

2022: 1.5 million in salary (fully guaranteed) + existing 19.1 million in bonus structure. + 8 million pro rated signing bonus

(Rodgers gets: $41.5 million in cash. Cap hit: $28.6 million)

2023: 40 million in salary (fully guaranteed) + existing 7.5 million in bonus structure + 8 million pro rated signing bonus + 19 million (fully guaranteed) roster bonus.

(Rodgers gets $59.5 million in cash. Cap hit: $74.5 million)*

2024**: 40 million in base salary + 8 million pro rated signing bonus + 9.5 million in roster bonus

(Rodgers gets 49.5 million in cash. Cap hit 57.5 million)

2025 (void) : + 8 million pro rated signing bonus

2026 (void) : + 8 million pro rated signing bonus

* A portion of the 40 million in base salary would be converted to a signing bonus to spread out the cap hit.

** I'm guessing this entire thing becomes guaranteed after 2022.

He's still the best shot we have to win, period. This new deal is as much about Love. This is the Packers telling us all...we don't think Love is the future here. Otherwise, this deal never happens.

This deal has nothing to do with Love. This deal has everything to do with the Packers Front Office not having the stones to walk away from their security blanket.

I don't buy that for a second. Packers know better than us what they've seen from Love. You think for a second they're making this move to risk losing a guy they want as a future franchise QB?
