DefenseWinsChampionships
I'm actually pretty fired up about this move. Zuerlein started off with the Rams but the last time we signed a former Dallas Cowboys Kicker was Nick Folk (2010-2016) and he was pretty awesome for us. Not only is Greg Zuerlein (34 years old) just as good as Nick Folk (37 years old) but Greg Zuerlein has a much (much) stronger leg than Nick Folk (and just as accurate too). Greg Zuerlein: 10 Years. • Career FG% of 82.2%. • Career XP% of 95.8%. • Career Touchback Average of 68.2%. • Career Kickoff Average of 64.4 Yards. • FG (season) longs made of 54, 54, 56, 56, 56, 56, 58, 59, 60 and 61. Nick Folk: 14 Years. • Career FG% of 82.5%. • Career XP% of 97.3%. • Career Touchback Average of 23.3%. • Career Kickoff Average of 62.0 Yards. • FG (season) longs made of 50, 51, 51, 51, 51, 51, 52, 53, 53, 54, 54, 55, 55 and 56. I already can't wait to see this guy kicking in Green and White. Special Teams are underrated but New York just greatly improved our Jets Special Teams Unit (both FG and Kickoffs).

I've complained all Offseason about missing FA players (who I wanted). @ the end of the day we've had a strong Offseason of plugging a couple of weaknesses @ TE (x2), CB and Strong Safety (before heading into the draft). But I haven't been fired up about missing out on some of my favorite (potential) players. I absolutely love this Greg Zuerlein addition. But unless you're a Jets fan you wouldn't understand (we've trotted out trash FG kicker after trash FG kicker since losing Nick Folk after 2016's season) because we've gone through a whopping 8 FG kickers since dating back to only 2017 (6 seasons). • We'll finally have stability again @ both FG Kicker and on Kickoffs too.

El Ramster
Power moves. dude had the strongest leg I’ve ever seen. Shame injuries robbed him. Dude was dynamic af, I remember an insane kick in Chicago he had with crazy wind. It would have been good from 65.. 61 yarder with wind.

He's also got one of the most accurate and most powerful legs around. Adam Vinatieri Career FG% = 83.8%. • Greg Zuerlein Career FG% = 82.2%. • Mason Crosby Career FG% = 81.1%. Jason Elam Career FG% of 80.7%. Gary Anderson Career FG% = 80.1%. Morten Andersen Career FG% = 79.7%. (Just a couple of my All-Time favorites in comparison). He's a lot more than "interchangeable"; he's one of the best FG kickers within the game today (outside of Justin Tucker).

In 2020 he was about middle of the pack and in 2019 he was bottom 6 in field goal percentage. He hasn't been a good kicker since 2018. There was talk all last year about what Dallas was going to do with him because he was so shaky. Most of those guys played 20 years ago. Field goal kickers are a little better now. His all time field goal percentage is the same as Blair Walsh and Zuelerein is getting older. He's 24th in field goal accuracy among active players. That's not good. He's up to 21st if you take out guys who didn't play last year but haven't actually declared retirement as far as I know (Kai Forbath, Dan Bailey, etc)

That's because Joe Douglas has done a very good job throughout FA thus far. Please tell me which moves you "didn't like" before you think you can jump down my throat. • Because he upgrade our O-Line with a Pro Bowl LG in Laken Tomlinson (who will now feast @ RG). • He upgraded our (once) crap TE room not only once but 2x in Tyler Conklin and C.J. Uzomah (and all of a sudden NY has an exciting TE duo for Zach Wilson). • He upgraded our SS position with Jordan Whitehead (who absolutely excells in Zone Coverage) for Robert Saleh's Cover-3 Zone Scheme. • He upgraded our CB position with a CB who graded out as top 10 CB last year in D.J. Reed. He even re-signed our All-Pro KR and very good slot receiver, Braxton Berrios. And now Joe Douglas just upgraded our FG/Kickoff position(s) with one of the best Kickers within the game today in Greg Zuerlein. Who the heck is your team? And what types of Fred Agent/Team upgrades have they made in order for you to be excited and fire up about? Because our Jets GM (Joe Douglas) is quietly having himself a Free Agency that's absolute 🔥.
Forge
Telling me Greg Zuerlein is one of the best kickers in the game is like telling me that you gave Aaron Rodgers a #1 receiver by signing Devin Funchess
