AD has value to a contender and Lebron is tradeable next offseason. Giving up future picks to sneak in the play-in games would be peak stupidity. What do you think they'd fetch for LeBron/AD? He’s an awful defender and takes stupid shots. They're a rim protecting C away from being a force. Zion is still getting his footing, they missed Ingram badly when he was hurt and CJ has had a slow start. I couldn't be less worried. They'll finish as a top 5 seed. NYRaider
It's insane that Anthony Edwards hasn't even dunked in a game yet this season.

After LeBron's first stint in Cleveland they won: 19, 21, 24, 33 (0 playoff appearances) After his second stint in Cleveland they've won: 19, 19, 22, 44 (0 playoff appearances) Miami is arguably the best run organization in the league and they missed the playoffs 3/5 years immediately after LeBron left. AD played for Monty so they could overpay if the situation feels right. I’d prefer trading CP3 (non-gtd contract next year) and every possible pick/swap for SGA. NYRaider
Maybe DA had a plan after all... Get the Wolves picks for the next 7 years, delay the Cavs picks until Don is eligible for free agency... I can't imagine the Lakers trading LeBron or AD. LeBron runs the team at this point.

So the Lakers grossly downgrade their big man for a backup PG, a late FRP, and a couple of lottery picks?

Cam Johnson would start immediately for the Lakers. I don't think the gap between AD/Ayton is that substantial anymore especially considering Ayton is like 6 years younger. Cam/Ayton plus three firsts would be a win. Edited November 9, 2022 by NYRaider
