Nahhhh Bitonio All Pro Mitchell Schwartz was a baller too Travis Benjamin Emmanuel Acho has turned into a great tv personality 2013 we had a super small draft. At least Mingo turned into a serviceable player eventually Christian Kirksey has been a solid pro and was solid for us. Pierre Destin stayed in the league for like 8 years our 2015 draft was Mayock bad for sure. Duke Johnson has been solid but he’s a rb so that doesn’t count. Besides that 2015 maybe the worst browns draftclass ever. But at least Erving and Shelton are still in the league. 2016 Ogbah Nassib Schobert and Rashaad Higgins did make some plays for us. but yeah horrible drafting no way around it. But I will say between Bitonio and Mitchell Schwartz we drafted the best players. Crosby is y’all shining star. But that’s really it. Gruden was the one to turn Waller into a player. That definitely means something.

Darren Waller was Greg Olson, he is the one who identified him on the Ravens practice squad and requested he be signed to work in his offense. I know he wasn't terrific or anything but didn't think he was doing so awfully to be subject to a mid-season cut, either. Any insight, Raiders fans? Did he really lack value even in a backup or depth role, or did something happen beyond his play on the field? Supposedly he asked to be released. His snap count has dropped significantly over the last few weeks. They'd been trying to move him since before training camp and couldn't get an offer which should point to how much value he has around the league. He's an absolutely miserable player. Undisciplined, cannot cover and even dropped off from his "big hitter" persona he had coming in. He's the typical hung around the roster because of draft position player you hate on your team. Did nothing of note. The best thing you can say about him is he became less reckless and stopped hurting his own teammates. And before the "he needs to move to LB" chants start, it's not the answer.

Ruggs was like the only guy who when selected you didn't immediately scratch your head in disbelief. As for Abrams his career has one chance for salvation and that is a converted LB. SS's like him are dead in this league. Edited November 9, 2022 by Rockice_8

Ruggs was extremely fast but had meh production at Alabama and was pretty universally considered the 3rd best WR prospect in the class behind Lamb and Jeudy. He never showed anything in college or in his brief time with us that said he could be a high volume, #1 option type of WR. He definitely had value as a guy that could take the top off of a defense but Raiders fans were pissed at the time because no one thought CeeDee would fall to us and we passed on him. He's not a physical player. Don't confuse the occasional big hit with being physical. He's not capable of taking on blocks and filling run lanes. He's a linear athlete. He can make a hit straight on, but has no change of direction and whiffs on ball carries frequently who force him to move his feet. The guy is a liability in coverage and can't tackle. Even as a depth player, he won't offer anything on STs. He's a waste of a roster spot.

Drafting a small box safety with zero coverage or ball skills in the first round, who could've guessed it wouldn't work?
