Well, Peyton had to get past Brady to get to the big game, right?  Wasn't easy.

Whereas Rodgers had to get past....uh...get past...Brees!  Yeah, that's it!  Oh wait...not really.  Uh....Eli Manning?  Jimmy Garrapolo?  Uh.....

Maybe it's a team game. Brady went against manning with a top 5 defense nearly every time. The QB vs QB stuff is hilarious. This isn't the NBA, they can't guard the best player or singlehandedly win games.

One thing we as Packers fans need to come to terms with.. We keep expecting McCarthy-level development from a coaching staff who has not really proven to be talent developers. At least, not at that level and not with nearly as many players.

That and to quit with the notion that our young guys will take a leap forward and that is how we will be better.

Everyone has young players that can leap forward.

The only difference is can tell is ceiling.  Deguara can take a huge step forward and still be a meh player.  His ceiling isn't high enough to affect much.  And maybe that is harsh...so Runyan perhaps?

But guys like Watson, Doubs and Wyat?  I think their ceilings are so high that if they improve, well, there just a lot more that can help impact wins and losses.  They are that talented.  Maybe even Quay can go in there.

Obviously you are right.  But it all starts with the QB and Peyton had to make it past Tom.  It was a tougher road than what Rodgers has had to deal with.

Of course but regardless of QB the best team wins. We've had a cluster **** of bad special teams and defense for well over 10 years. That was almost never the case with Tom. Dude had a lucky horse shoe up his ***. Hell they even had a horrific division to help get them to the one seed nearly every year.

Yeah, they are really "wooing" him by meeting him at a dingy regional airport.

Favre took Reggie to Red Lobster....

Best coach, right?  Disciplined team.  Great defense.

Still, you'd think Rodgers would have been back to another Super Bowl.  It isn't like the NFC had a powerhouse sitting in his way.

Except if you consider that GB has been a favorite for the NFC for a while.

Seattles defense and 49ers defense. And kaep vs dom. Brady couldn't make it past uh.... Eli manning? A few times either, when those teams were on fire.. Atlanta shouldve killed Bradys team outside a monumental collapse.

Weve had these same conversations a million times. Its tough to win the super bowl unless youre the patriots regardless of roster construction. The packers had some solid shots at it. It is what it is.

My guy, we literally couldn't recover an onside kick to go to the Superbowl. Just look at the defenses stats between the two teams. It's night and day. Isn't Brady on record talking about how unfair Rodgers would be in ne?

Im probably in the minority here but there is no way the Jets take on Rodgers and don't re-do that contract (to remove as much of the ded cap charges in 25/26) which I am sure is part of the talks with Rodgers.

Just because he is guaranteed that option bonus this year, it doesn't mean he and the Jets cant agree to a new contract which supersedes this one. Now of course he will likely only agree to that if the cash being paid this year is similar which i'm sure it will be.

The option bonuses already get prorated in the current contract. They already would be a big up-front cash payment with a spread out cap hit.

but yes, they could rework the contract in other ways.
