I remember in 2007 the Bills played Washington in the next game following Sean Taylor's tragic death.

Buffalo was still in the playoff hunt and I was never more confused and uneasy about rooting for the Bills in my life.

That's pretty damn eerie. Also, that is exactly what I meant. Tough stuff.

Yeah I'm exhausted by the talk of seeds, who's screwed etc. Go by winning percentage and in my eyes, if any of the 3 of Cincy/Buffalo/KC make the conference championship then put it in Indy. Fans of whatever teams make it will travel to the game. It's by far the most fair and a good amount of each fan base would make the travel and it would be sold out. I don't see a downside of that. Only outstanding issue is the bye but like other people said, if the Bills/Bengals are the teams we think, they should take care of business either way.

And this is all I’m looking for - acknowledgment that the solution isn’t perfect, but it’s as close to it as we can get given the circumstances.

A dude momentarily dies twice on live tv and people are fired up about its impact on their teams seeding and MVP chances and who got the short end of the stick with a declaration of no contest

This discourse isn’t healthy… y’all should just be grateful some dude didn’t die on live tv for your entertainment.

Your perception is yours. Interpret as you feel. Levity is always my go to, if that makes you feel better.

Ok well I’ll take it as the disrespect that it seemed since you didn’t wish to clarify using humor. Definitely a good way to approach things being a mod.

I am certainly grateful. To the point that I don't know how I will feel the next game I tune into. This will forever linger in the back of my mind as I watch. It doesn't get any more up close and personal than this - the damage that this sport can wrought.

Given the original post here and response by ET, I’m gracefully bowing out of explaining how the solution given was as fair as possible to all teams involved and that no team (Cincinnati) got the short end of the stick in comparison.

*unless people start yapping at me, then I’ll be forced to break it down. It really doesn’t matter though. The NFL is making the call and we all have to live with it.

Blessings to Damar #3 Keep fighting young man.       GO BILLS

You’re the one who is lamenting over this situation as nauseum, not willing to find compromise with people (who are and aren’t impacted) and being rather obtuse in the entire engagement. You act as if you (and you alone) had all the answers despite people poking holes in the solution you had. Quite frankly, it just seems like you want to fight and complain because your team isn’t getting a do over in a game you were losing. I’m so sorry you aren’t getting what you want, but that happens sometimes. (If you really want to see someone screwed over, ask New Orleans in 2017).

If you take exception with my moderation, feel free to take it up with Webby - I’ll be more than happy to show your contribution to this thread and the impact it has on my approach with you in this discussion.

Everyone’s emotional response to tragic events are wildly different. Trying to apply what one wants as a response is quite off putting.

Hell I told jokes at my own fathers funeral because the way I greive at this point is to tell jokes and worry about seemingly trivial things.

The Chiefs did the best. They did not have control of the bye and now they do.

Other than that it's pretty even-handed.

And it’s fair to say the only reason why they do is because they have the chance to win one more game.

I would be a lot less annoyed if another potential Bills/Bengals match up was played on a neutral site (or at least given a coin flip).

If the Bills lose and the Bengals win then it will be played in Cincinnati if they meet.

I go totally numb and cold. I am sorry to hear of your father.
