Problem with Wheeler is you're going to severely overpay for him now. With the Astros and Yankees focused on him now and what they can offer to Mets, good luck...

Still think we'll end up with a BOR starter by end of this. Probably won't be a sexy name, but guy who can eat innings...

I'd be fine with that too. The trade deadline has completely changed last two years. Fringe teams just don't sell like they did in past...

Yeah i always get so excited about today just to be disappointed. But there are still starting pitchers out there that I think Get moved before 3pm.

Depends on what you mean by “fix” we are currently in 1st place, not sure what you’re looking for in a trade. If you’re looking for a guy to come in and put us on par with the Dodgers, yeah your right, Wheeler doesn’t “fix” our season. But if you’re looking for a guy to help get over the hump and win the division....then yes absolutely Wheeler helps this team. And you have to win the division first to have any chance.

Wheeler would be a nice get and would save some of those arms in the bullpen.

I mean, Wheeler isn't changing the outlook on our season.  Especially for what Wheeler is going to cost.  Wheeler doesn't put us head and shoulders better than the Cubs.  He's a FA at the end of the year and he's got a significant injury history.

Don’t really get the Gyorko trade. Especially with the issues we’ve had at 3B this season. Jedd has shown that he’s somewhat valuable to a club when he’s healthy.

Unless of course this is a trade for a trade type thing. Maybe we got some cash for Gyorko and are flipping that as part of a package for a SP.

Might want to hold your breath...

The emergence of Edman and Munoz and the pending return of Carp have pushed Gyorko out...

Just saw Gyorko may not even be ready to be activated when eligible next week...

So can we start a petition to fire Mo and his little lackey Girsch? A team that has a very average rotation and a bullpen who will dead by the end of August(if it lasts that long) and they did nothing to improve. A team that is in 1st place(for now) keeps the same rotation in place. The best team in baseball lands a legit player after already having a damn good rotation. Astros are what the Cardinals used to be. Sad
