The biggest change has been his completion percentage.

From below 58%, he’s brought that above 63%. Staggering 5% difference.

And people said it was because of his supporting cast when he’s lost Reed for a chunk of games and also Watson for a chunk of games and also Musgrave. The excuse of his supporting cast being the reason he sucked is and was a false narrative. He’s performed better with Bo Melton and Malik Heath over Watson and Reed.

He sucked for a big chunk of games. He doesn’t suck anymore.

The O line has played much better. Maybe largely due to the rotations and in - season competitions and looks like he is has gotten better at aligning the protections pre snap.

Bingo. You can say the word “context” all you want to excuse the bad stretch, but he was playing badly. I think he’s the guy. I’m delighted with him now. But he went through several games in a bad streak where he (and LaFleur) were just plain putting bad football on the field. That’s okay for year one. Progress is not linear.

Love is definitely playing better now than he was earlier in the season.  That was only to be expected as he settled in as QB1.

It's not just Love, the receivers (WR and TE) are clearly playing better now vs what we saw in September and October.  Again, that was to be expected.  Back in September, each game featured multiple examples of routes being run that seemed clearly wrong.

The OL is the group where I was surprised by how poorly they were playing, and now it looks like they have turned a corner as well.

This!

Nailed it on every point.

I'm at a point now, where I'm questioning if OT is a necessity to the point, where you grab one who may not be near the top of your board. Walker has really come on. Rhyan is legit too. Depth on the o-line for sure in the draft but NEEDING one is no longer a requirement.

Love might put up monster numbers next year with the talent around him. Get me Jones back and the RB from Wisconsin and let's roll.

exactly, he's doing better dealing with pass rush, and he's built better chemistry with his receivers, last 4 games he has a 68 completion %, and Reed had 85 receiving yrds last night

When his completion % was 58%, we were constantly behind the sticks due to penalties and ineffective running game. The truth is in between. He is better, the unit has been too.

Yeah, while the supporting cast has gotten better - Love has too. Wasn’t trying to sound like Love was perfect early in the season, definitely wasn’t. But as you said, that was kind of expected.

We definitely found our future QB.

Sean Clifford has the highest pass completion percentage in NFL history and is averaging 37 yards per pass.  😉

Side note:  Love looked great last night, he's the guy, huge progress over the past 7 games (16 tds, 1 pick)

I’m just so bummed that Love hasn’t even won a Super Bowl before he’s reached the do no wrong stage.

He sucked. You can say the rest of his team also sucked, but he contributed to that sucking by also sucking.

Terrible throws, terrible decisions, terrible consistency, terrible starts separate from the rest of the team.

We went through six years where every mistake of Aaron’s was attributed to the team. And now we’re right back to that.

This is how quarterbacks get paid too much and how mediocrity is born.

Yeah, like Maz said, EVERYTHING has gotten way better.  Walker has improved so much.  Kraft *so* much, blocking included.  Pass protection now terrific; so different from Lions debacle and Max Crosby/Raiders.

Love's clock much better.  Much easier to throw with time, but his ability to process within the time has improved, and his awareness of pressure.  Receivers and Love much more in sync.

MLF has adapted to the young personnel.  Was initially pretty committed to early-down runs,  but between penalties and worthless runs, seemed like so many 2nd-and-8, 2nd-and-15, 2nd-and-20 series.  Lately 2nd-and-8 is the exception, not the norm.  And seems like more 1st-down pass plays.

Early, defenses crowded the line, as they had versus Lazard-era teams, where a large % of throws were behind or <5 yards beyond the line.  With MLF running a lot and Watson out, it was pretty congested.  But now with better pass-pro and with so many >10-yard throws, defenses don't crowd so tightly.  Kraft averaged 8 ypc on his 6 passes yesterday, all of them kinda easy productive plays.  Early in the season, almost none would have worked as well because the defenses were just crowded in so much tighter.  6 easy Kraft completions impact completion %.
