so vikings current 2024 picks

1st

2nd

4th (lions)

4th**

5th (chiefs)

5th (browns or panthers pick, not confirmed yet)

6th

traded picks

3rd - traded for Hock

4th** this goes to eagles if Reagor has 40 recs or 500 yards or 5tds. if he doesnt, then our 5th goes to eagles

7th - traded for mullens

I'm curious if that pick we got back from the browns is the panthers 5th. that would be a lot better!!

I'm not sure reagor is even on the team next year, but I think he is. If he reaches those numbers and everyone else is healthy, this offense is ridiculous.

Unlike what others have thought, I think the Vikings did real well in this deal.

I'm good with it. they were stuck between a rock and a hard place in terms of compensation navigation. I just need them to now put the free up cap space to good use.

That was going to happen, regardless.

True, but I see people seeming to think that the Vikings are getting fleeced by the Browns for getting rid of him.  As far as I'm concerned that's the biggest reason for unloading him, outside of his desire to go elsewhere.

With only the $1.77MM SB being swallowed by the Vikings as part of the deal the team will have a very nice amount of Savings.  I am surprised someone hasn't already calculated that that is, but I too and too lazy at the moment to calculate it.  It's obvious that it will be a lot.

I'll take a crack at it.

Vikings cap space pre trade: $1,096,457

Z's cap savings: $10,386,861 ($12,156,861 - $1,770,000)

Vikings cap space post trade: $11,483,318

Trade a Pro Bowl edge rusher and a 6th/7th rounder for two freaking 5th round picks.  What a joke.  Odd how NFL trading works, clearly they just did not want the contract, but obviously got almost nothing in return for him...

Obviously then they will get slim to nothing for Cook as well if he is traded.

They got something for a player who clearly didn't want to be on the team this year and definitely would not have been on the team in '24.  And he's 30 yrs old (turns 31 before Week 1) with a significant recent injury history.  That's far from a joke.  That's a pretty good deal.
