Let me clarify, I'm fairly sure his injury isn't so severe it should be affecting his performance to this level. What you say is he's the highest paid QB in the league and it's unacceptable for him to play at this level, you hold him accountable like we would any other highly paid guy.

I think when you have a skillset that Burrow has, I'm not surprised that a leg injury is impacting him as much as this one is. He's not an elite physical talent. Never has been. His arm isn't the strongest, it's largely NFL functional and he's largely what he is because oh his intelligence and processing (and to a certain extent) his moxie. He's just never going to be a guy that can launch ropes from only his upper body. I think an injury like this could certainly impact him more than a physically gifted guy.ย

I don't think this injury, for example, would hinder Stafford nearly as much as its hurting Burrow.ย

I just think that guys like Burrow have less room to give when it comes to injuries. Doesn't mean that when healthy he's not awesome though.ย

The responsibility to protect Burrow lies with the Bengals. Burrow's job is to show up and try his best to play. He's doing that.

His team and medical staff are failing him.

Is he just not as responsible to his teammates by telling them he just can't do it? Ultimately it's the HCs decision, but they all have a hand in it.ย

No, because he's a quarterback.

Quarterbacks don't decide playing time. Coaches do.

Quarterbacks don't medically clear people. Doctors do.

If the guy says he can play you let him play. It's on Burrow just as much as the coaches. If he's so hurt it's negatively affecting him this much then it's selfish for him to stay out there.
