Teams refuse to hire guys to just buzz down to the HC "take a timeout" because "oh no muh strategy and responsibility" even though having to think about that makes them worse HC's because it gives you LESS time to actually manage the game.

At the end of the day though, the NFL is still an old school league that recognizes the "analytics" aren't always right.  It's a big ask to take that out of the hands of your HC and put it in the hands of some like...doofus up in the pressbox with no other real job.  Who isn't factoring in anything else going on along the sidelines.  Just crunching numbers in a cubicle somewhere basically.
