Especially when it’s a matter of hindsight being 20-20. If a player broke free for a big gain on the scramble drill there wouldn’t be anything to be frustrated about.

He comes from an era where that isn't a valid excuse. 3rd and 6 with a 3rd string CB on your best WR with 10+ yards of cushion? There shouldn't even be any communication, in his day both players just knew they had to run a curl route in those situations.
