You cant run straight ahead on every deep route. You need some head a hip fakes, a turn of the toe, something to buy space. And he didnt have any of it. And his hands were suspect. Dez was better at this when Romo was out there. And Williams rookie year, we all thought he was the next big play downfield target. All gone now. But Butler is really iffy. Not a reliable guy period. They were attacking the weak point of Smith and Cooper with the twists. These never phased Smith before. It was more to attack Cooper, Smith folding under it was simply a bonus. When your top pass protector isnt getting extension and is being beat on his inside shoulder, where the leverage should be all his, theres a problem.
