if he wins us 7 plus games next year

What good will 7+ wins do us?

I would rather have fewer and pick higher until the job is done.

and helps properly develop the number 1pick

How?

By protecting him from Hueball Magic?

We need the best QB at 1 and the best player at four.

lets not over think this and try and get to clever

We will.

We'll end up with some mediocre chump like AJ McCarron, Teddy Bridgewater or Tyrod Taylor. Probably find a way to give up multiple picks for the privilege.

Then we'll drop the firsts, if they weren't involved in the trade, on some sort of combo like Chubb and Fitzpatrick. Which will result in three more sacks and two more interceptions total than this season.

We'll win two games and Haslam will say he felt "the earth move between my feet" when he watched Hue calling plays.

The time for high picks is over, we should have our qb and, if they chose to make it happen, plenty of draft capital moving forward.

The fanbase, ownership, players, etc all need wins moving forward.

None of the previously mentioned are prepared to deal with rookie growing pains and the losses that go with it.

The qb protects the rookie by keeping him on the bench and not allowing him to be thrown to the wolves.

Someone please tell me why AJ Mccaron is so awful??

6ft 3. 220 pounds

He had a 30 TD to 3 INT year at Bama his Junior year surrounded by A++ talent leading to a BCS NC title.

Followed by a 28 and 7 INT at Bama his Senior year surrounded by A++ talent leading to a BCS NC title.

His stock dropped as media reports stated that at the combine he came off as Cocky and Arrogant. " It was reported that teams felt during pre-draft interviews that he came across cocky and over-confident. When asked what his best attribute was during an interview at the combine, McCarron responded, "Winning!"

He had the stigma of being a game manager due to the superior talent around him at Bama.

He also was thought to not have a plus arm.

He had full control of the offense at Bama and understands pro schemes.

When he came out in the draft I did no digging on him and believed what I was told via the sports media and draft rumor mills.

Then, one day last year, when I heard that we might be interested in him I watched all of his pro snaps at the Bengals and watched half of the games his senior year and a handful his Junior year.

I was blown away at his deep ball touch and accuracy; his ability to adjust at the line. Specifically, watch his play in the pros, he's throwing bombs 50 yards down the field dropped in the bucket to AJ Green.

He also gets the ball out fast.

He's a limited athlete that has trouble avoiding the rush.

In summary, those who hate on his ability to be a winning prospect really need to watch the tape.

2. Here's some 2015 Highlights:

I'm telling you, Mccaron surrounded by talent is no HOFer or All pro, but he's definitely can get you 8 wins.

I've been on the Mccaron train for over a year as a solid bridge QB that can buy you 2 years of bench time for your young developing QB to watch from the sidelines.

During those 2 years, Mccaron can get you 7-8 games.

Great post. I like McCarron a lot as well. I'm not sure why he is considered by so many as a career backup when he actually looked quite good when he's played. Now, I'm of the mindset to buy low on him--free agent signing perhaps instead of trading high picks. Maybe 3/50 with 30 guaranteed to get him to sign here.

I really hope players decide to go back to school and make it known it is because they dont want to get drafted by the Browns. I hope a guy who is already declare calls the Browns.

They can be the hero that Browns deserves, but not the ones it needs right now

Maybe if its become well known that players dont want to play for the Browns because of Jimmy and Hue that it could cause the NFL to maybe stand it or make them find a new coach

Btw so everyone knows Haslam was at the tOSU USC game “scouting” the Darnold.

Fraud and scouting should for sure go together.

Dorsey was there as well I believe. I heard Hue wasnt there.
