he was probably upset that the fans were saying mean things like 'go green bay'

It's super weird to get mad at fans in a football stadium yelling weird stuff.  Like try playing "Sweet Caroline" at a WVU game in which PItt is not involved and see what happens.

I think that loss of Sharpe cost us another SB win or two.  He was all world.

That is hard to say.  Favre leaned real heavy on Sterling.  Once Sterling went out, then Favre really turned it on.  Maybe that is natural progression, or maybe not having the crutch anymore opened up the rest of the field.  I also think that even with Sharpe, the window for that 90s team was closed after the 97 season.  The defense got old and they had a completely different team by the time they were seriously competing again in 2002ish.  They would have had to have beaten one of the earlier Cowboys teams, which is a lot easier said than done.

Probably a much better option but who? Also, what do you think Fields is worth? I'm thinking Trey Lance compensation that Dallas gave up.

Fields is only one year older than Lance, and costs 700k more next season.  Both are FAs in 2025.  From what we have seen in the NFL so far, I would rather have Fields.  If that really means a whole lot.  But seeing that he is a FA after the 2024 season, and you aren't going to re-sign him immediately (well, maybe the Saints would) I doubt that he gets the same compensation that Lance did.
