The Full RFA rules. The first numbered bulletin.

Restricted Free Agents (RFA)

Players with 3 years of league experience with expiring contracts become restricted free agents: each owner has a chance to tag a player with a pick of its choice (from a 1st rounder to a 7th). If another owner wishes to sign the player, they have to make an offer that the owner of the player won’t match and give him the pick with which the player was tagged.

Players who would otherwise be RFA during the offseason cannot be 3 upped for a single year.

  • Qualifying Tender Offers:

1st Round - $3,500

2nd Round - $3,000

3rd Round - $2,500
4th Round - $2,000
5th Round - $1,500
6th Round - $1,250
7th Round - $1,000

  • Matching or Declining the tender offer sheet

    • Teams will have 24 hours depending on our schedule to determine if they “match or decline” the proposed contract offer.

      • Matching the offer sheet means you accept to pay the player the exact same deal of the offer sheet.

      • Declining sends the player to the new team under the terms of the contract and the old team receives the compensation.

Note: A team must have at least a current year 1st round draft pick in order to bid on a player tendered that amount. If not then that team’s bid is invalid.

A team will always give up their original draft pick for a player with the following exceptions.

  1. If a team doesn’t have a pick in the round a player was tendered they give up their next highest draft pick available to the other team. (ex. Don’t have a 3rd. You would give up your lowest 2nd rounder instead.)

  2. If a team does have another draft pick other than their original in a round that they bid on, they give up their highest draft pick available in that round. (ex. Don’t have your 3rd but have two other 3rd’s from trades give up the highest 3rd rounder available.)

Any bids on RFA players must exceed the tender amount and be a minimum of 2 years. Bids must follow FA rules. New Initial bids aren't allowed within 48 hours of the deadline

After bidding completes, the current owner of the player has 24 hours to decide whether they will match the bid or not
Pick will be for the upcoming draft and if a team owns more than one pick in the round of the tender, the Team's Original pick will be used as compensation. After that, the lowest numbered pick will be used if multiple picks still exist.

it was a joke, my dude

Noted. I would trade up to get a pick if I needed it but I would not trade back just to give lesser value as I have had that done to me and it sucks.

Week of 3/18 Rumor

Word in the draft is two first round projected QBs are expected to slide with Raleigh being an interested trade up partner to grab one

One RFA offer is expected this week but there may not be any others sources shared

Already two RFA offers. One more for the chamber.

Raleigh in the cat bird seat. Wait to see who falls and then still can 3 up the dangerous one for peanuts to cover things for a year to give time for Young to mature or Fields to get it.

Narrator: And neither happened…

Entertaining mock. Gonna be honest though, I think the more of these mocks I see from all of us the less I understand where any player is going past the 1st 9 picks

What you'll find is that different people have wildly different opinions on players.

It is a nice thing about BDL. Because we all actually have to put our money where our mouth is basically and build our teams there is a lot less group think going on.

I lowkey hate watch and read mock drafts during this time of year where everyone regurgitates the same group think info on what teams will do and then they wonder why they are wildly wrong.
