CONGRATULATIONS TO @beardown3231 ON BECOMING YOUR 2023 PICK 'EM REGULAR SEASON CHAMPION!

10 points was enough to hold off a surging @Madmike90 to take the title by one point, Chisoxguy7 finishes two points off the lead to round out the top 3.

Allow me to express my humble gratitude to those who stuck it out all year, to @blkwdw13 for being responsible for the game for most of the season, and even to those non-participants who allowed us to clutter up the board a little bit each week.

Here are your final standings for the year--the home teams shocked everyone and took the highest points for the week, your highest scoring team was the Saints, the lowest was the Panthers.

THE PLAYOFF PICK 'EM GAME:

We will pick the outcomes of the wildcard weekend of games as we did in the regular season. Then, each team will pick a selection of teams to represent them throughout the playoffs. Each win during the wildcard round is worth one point. Each subsequent win by the player's selected teams is worth additional points as the playoffs continue. Use each team once, do not duplicate. For example, your super bowl winner does not need to be chosen for division or conference. See example at bottom. You can choose multiple teams from the same conference if you desire.

PICKS:

WILDCARD GAMES (correct winner = 1 point):

AFC:

5 Browns @ 4 Texans

6 Dolphins @ 3 Chiefs

7 Steelers @ 2 Bills

NFC:

7 Packers @ 2 Cowboys

6 Rams @ 3 Lions

5 Eagles @ 4 Buccaneers

BYE: Ravens, 49ers

Divisional (pick 2 teams, each subsequent playoff win worth 2 points):

Conference (pick 2 teams, each subsequent playoff win worth 4 points):

Super Bowl (pick 1 team, each subsequent playoff win worth 6 points):

Conference (pick 2 teams, each subsequent playoff win worth 4 points): Dolphins, 49ers

Super Bowl (pick 1 team, each subsequent playoff win worth 6 points): Ravens

Hypothetical playoffs: Wildcard winners Browns, Chiefs, Bills, Cowboys, Rams, Eagles. Player gets 4 points for wildcard round. In divisional round, Ravens def Browns, Bills def Chiefs, Cowboys def Eagles, 49ers def Rams. For this round, player earns 6 (Ravens) + 4 (49ers) + 2 (Bills) = 12 points for division round. Conference round: Ravens def Bills, 49ers def Cowboys. Player earns 6 (ravens) + 4 (49ers) = 10 points. Super Bowl Ravens def 49ers, player earns 6 points. Final score for player = 32 points

@chisoxguy7 Can we pick the same teams in multiple rounds of the playoffs? Can mine look like this?

Divisional: Ravens, Niners

Conference: Ravens, Niners

Super Bowl: Niners

No, use each team only once. Presumably some combination of the winners you choose for wildcard round and the two bye teams.

The names conference/divisional/Super Bowl are meaningless, you’ll earn points as long as your selected team continues to win, just the number of points they earn per win varies based on where you put them.

I'm a bit confused on the conference selection.... There's only 2 games, and if I'm picking 2 picks, I'm should want to pick the winner for both?.... and one of those two teams HAS to be the super bowl winner as well... but I'm not allowed to pick the same team twice..... So I'm supposed to select a team I'm expecting to make it there but lose for the same division as the Superbowl winner?

I understand the confusion. I went back and forth on the naming and also on having fewer teams to pick. It breaks down to a confidence play, the team you like best to win the super bowl is your 6 pointer, your next 2 are your 4 pointers, your next 2 are your two pointers. There's also some strategy to be had, for example for wildcard picks you could pick winners that you don't pick for your main 5 picks as a hedge to try to claim a point if your preferred team loses.

This is all experimental and there's a good chance it's silly, hoping to figure that out!
