I mean to be fair i told everyone that would listen that CB wasn't that big of a need this entire offseason.  You can check many of mock drafts where i was arguing against a CB in round 1 and 2 for us.   But on the other end i also said SS was a need for us and said 3-4DE/4-3DT wasn't a need at all for us.    Well we didn't take any SS's and already took 2  3-4 edges. So  WTF do i know about my team at all.

Our 3-4 edge / 4-3 DT group
Grady Jarrett
David Onyemata
Zach Harrison
Kentavius Street
Ta'quan Graham
Ruke Ohrrorroro
Brandon Doralus
Lacale London
Eddie Goldman - NT
Callaias Campbell - Supposedly has a contract offer according to raheem morris if he wants to take it

Thats a boat load of talent for 1 position

I was wondering.  The way the guys on TV were talking, they were making it sound like the Jets drafted him to be the long term replacement for Aaron Rodgers.

For now, it is all talk.

INSTANT ANALYSIS of expert proportions on the Cowboys latest pick:

The Dallas Cowboys' decision to select Caelen Carson in the 5th round of the NFL Draft can be seen as a masterstroke of genius for several reasons.

Firstly, let's look at Carson's physical attributes. Standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 199 pounds, he possesses a frame that is neither too large nor too small for a modern NFL cornerback. This size allows him to match up against a wide range of receivers, from shifty slot receivers to towering outside threats. His 40-yard dash time of 4.48 seconds showcases his speed, which is crucial for a cornerback tasked with covering the fastest players on the field.

Carson's experience at Wake Forest also speaks volumes about his potential in the NFL. Having played in 36 games for the Demon Deacons, he has had ample opportunity to hone his skills in both man and zone coverage. His versatility in this regard is a significant asset, as it allows the Cowboys to deploy him in various defensive schemes without sacrificing effectiveness. Additionally, his experience playing in the slot and on the outside gives the Cowboys additional flexibility in their secondary.

Furthermore, Carson's background as a three-star recruit out of high school suggests that he has been somewhat overlooked throughout his career. This chip on his shoulder could serve as a powerful motivator, driving him to prove his doubters wrong and exceed expectations at the NFL level.

Another crucial aspect of Carson's game is his competitive spirit and "swag," as described by some analysts. This intangible quality cannot be measured by statistics or combine results, but it often separates the good players from the great ones. A player who possesses the mental fortitude to bounce back from mistakes and maintain a high level of play in the face of adversity is invaluable to any team.

Lastly, the Cowboys' selection of Carson in the 5th round represents excellent value. Given his physical tools, experience, and competitive nature, he could have easily been picked much earlier in the draft. By selecting him in the 5th round, the Cowboys have managed to acquire a potentially high-impact player without using one of their more valuable early-round picks.

In conclusion, the Cowboys' decision to draft Caelen Carson in the 5th round of the NFL Draft can be viewed as a stroke of genius. His physical attributes, versatility, experience, competitive spirit, and value all make him an excellent addition to the team. As he develops and learns from the veterans around him, Carson has the potential to become a valuable contributor to the Cowboys' defense for years to come.

COWBOYS GO TO SUPER BOWL
