In January of this year he and his wife made a $400 million pledge to the 1803 Fund, "a public benefit nonprofit dedicated to rebuilding and strengthening the historically Black community in Portland Oregon." Knight has over the last two decades donated $2 billion of the "family's fortune...to research, academics and politics". Granted he is worth what $47 billion so what is $2 billion but it is not like he does nothing for no one outside of Oregon athletics. He and Warren Buffett top the list of biggest publicly announced charitable donations from individuals or their foundations recently. Of course he is going to put money into Oregon athletics and NIL, think of all the facilities he has put up just to make that Oregon football team better. Now he can literally buy players and they already have been doing that. Last year Jordan Burch, Evan Williams, Tez Johnson, Jestin Jacobs, Ajani Cornelius, Khyree Jackson, Gary Bryant Jr, Holden. This year with Dillon Gabriel, Evan Stewart, Jabbar Muhammed, Dante Moore, Matthew Bedford then before all of that Bo Nix obviously Christian Gonzalez and Bucky Irving. All the top programs are doing it so why would Knight and Oregon be any different.
AP_allday2869
I have a feeling this season will now go off the rails. We need to draft Travis Hunter in the 1st round. He is not only a supreme talent on both sides of the ball, but he could easily step up and be the #2 behind Jettas and I think we would be a great fit in this offense. Burden from Missou would be nice, as would McMillin from Auburn. Edited July 15 by AP_allday2869

Not that we want to be proud of it, but the Vikings have had more players in trouble with the law than any other franchise since 2000, with 60 players being arrested, which is 80% higher than the average NFL team. They'll be fine.

Burden from Missou would be nice, as would McMillin from Auburn. To me Travis Hunter is only rare as a CB prospect, if he never played corner he would be just an average WR honestly. He has never even came close to getting 1000+ yards receiving and sure he is really good but all of the hype around him is the two way ability which will not really happen in the NFL. He might not be tough enough to play corner but honestly as a CB prospect he is far more rare and elite than a WR prospect. Also sadly he is not really a return man either on special teams, Hunter could be a Diggs type corner in the NFL, good ball skills and playmaking but needs to get better as a tackler and more physical and consistent in his play. Sure Jordan Addison and the latest off the field stuff is an issue, but it seemed like a huge issue last year and then he ended up as easily one of the best offensive rookies in the NFL and played well even when Justin Jefferson was hurt. But clearly he needs to learn to call for a ride instead of getting behind the wheel. At least it was a slight improvement, he pulled over and went to sleep instead of driving hundred miles an hour drunk, even though it was not the best location to do so. If they do indeed go WR I would love to get McMillan, he is a beast physically and provides something we have not had for a very long time at the WR position. Doubt he would be around though unless the Vikings really stink it up, and McMillan plays at Arizona. Burden they would no question be in the play for, and he along with McMillan and Egbuka are worlds ahead of Hunter as a WR only. Hunter is not even close to them honestly at the WR position. Right now I would say Vikings are middle of the pack as a team, maybe get the #11-#14 pick in that range, but sure things could go off the rails and they are worse. If that is to happen then clearly Darnold stinks it up and McCarthy is not ready either, Aaron Jones gets hurt as does Murphy at corner and Turner is not a dominating pass rusher. If all those things happen yeah they will kind of suck next year. I would be surprised if they made a play for a WR 1st round but who knows, honestly that would be shocking because what they have one 1st rounder, then two 5th rounders and that is it for the entire draft. So they would be flat idiots to not try and trade back and get a few more picks in the 2nd round or beyond. I would do that over selecting Travis Hunter a guy who does not even have a position at the next level honestly. Playing two ways is great but Champ Bailey did not do that in the NFL and neither did Charles Woodson and both of them are far better than Travis Hunter especially at defense. It is fun to talk about but really is meaningless, Hunter needs to find his position and stick to that only.
vike daddy
in college football news... The man who replaced Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh during his 2023 late-season suspension at Michigan is now facing a suspension of his own. ESPN.com reports that new Michigan coach Sherrone Moore is among seven members of the national-championship program facing potential discipline in a new NCAA notice of allegations. Per the report, “Moore could face a show-cause penalty and possibly a suspension for allegedly deleting a thread of 52 text messages with former Michigan staffer Connor Stalions in October 2023 on the same day that media reports revealed Stalions was leading an effort to capture the playcalling signals of future opponents.” The text messages were later recovered through device imaging. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jim-harbaughs-successor-sherrone-moore-faces-possible-suspension-over-connor-stalions-fiasco

Minnesota Vikings: Mason Graham, IDL, Michigan Several NFL Draft analysts believe that Graham might be the best overall player in this class. He was a key cog for the Wolverines last season and is expected to take a leap as a pass rusher. How much he develops in that area will determine how high he gets drafted, but don't expect him to fall out of the top-12 picks. Another 33rd team mock had us selecting DT Deone Walker from Kentucky. Seems the early mocks are favoring impact player on the DL which is extremely hard to argue at this point in time. Trading down is going to be very popular discussions throughout the process. Some times you can't overthink it and take a blue chip if they're there.

Some times you can't overthink it and take a blue chip if they're there. If Deone Walker is around the Vikings take him, one could absolutely argue in terms of upside Walker should be a top 5 pick in the 2025 draft. 6-6 340+ with his movement skills, and I assume this year he will be 10-15 pounds lighter and just as powerful. He is a rare talent and to me is the clear #1 DT in the draft and could be a total monster as a 3/4 DE as well. Mason Graham I would not mind but he is 3 inches shorter and 20 pounds lighter, not to mention being less production of a far superior defensive unit at Michigan. Now maybe his production will greatly increase this year for Michigan and it should. Walker can overpower and dominate people physically more than Graham can, Graham really uses his hands well but is not as long or as hard to deal with. With the CB issues on the team though at the moment and going forward it would be hard to pass on a top flight CB. Either way with freaking 3 draft picks, yeah they better hit big on every single one of them. Sadly not a ton of great options there at the Vikings pick unless they get a top 5 pick. Malaki Starks could be in that range but he might not have the foot speed for boundary corner and has been more of a slot or safety type but he could be a big time option also and well worth it if in that mid range of the draft.
