I was just thinking how many chances did Paxman get in Tennessee? And imo Rice is a better player than him at his position.

You're kidding, right?

no I'm not how many superbowl runs did Pacman attribute too. Rice is 1 of 1.

If you take Rice off of the Chiefs they're still a super contender. They have Mahomes. You could put Jerry Rice out there right now at his current age and Mahomes would still find a way to win.

Oof, alrighty then.

Wait till he finds out Pac-Man was a great returner too. lol. PAC was an all pro player. Rice is a bootleg Ja Morant. They want to be hood so bad.

May not have gotten to the SB without him last year either. He was key to freeing up Kelce and he’s a YaC-Fiend. Mahomes has not made it to SBs before, it has happened. He still needs guys that can catch, can’t catch it for them

There is nothing special about Rice. He's an average to above avg WR who benefited from a huge target share because he was in a room with a bunch of zeroes. With or without a suspension I wont be surprised at all to see Hollywood and /or Worthy out produce him on a per snap basis.

Out of every player targeted at least 80 times last year, Rice is 3rd worst in drop %. Only behind JSN and Njoku

He had 4 drops in his first 19 targets, then just 5 in his last 116. Could just be rookie jitters, that improved as the season progressed. But he was easily our most reliable receiver when it counted most.

FWIW, you also left out Puka Nacua, who had a worse drop rate as well, presumably because that doesn't fit the narrative as well. The top 5 ranking for worst drop % at > 80 targets last season would be JSN, Njoku, Puka Nacua, Rice, Tyreek Hill. So he might just be fine.

That was to start the year, he didn’t drop the ball at the end of the year

He lead the league in YAC, at least by players that weren’t Tyreek Hill. He also broke the all time rookie receptions record.

Dude has tons of talent, he can certainly be special if he stops doing stupid stuff

I expect a Vet to outperform a rookie in Andy’s system, that’s not a shocker lmao

CeeDee Lamb led the league in YAC with 680 yards. Brian Robinson Jr led the league in YAC/reception with 11.4. Rashee Rice was 13th in that category.

And Puke is the one who broke the all time rookie receptions record with 105. Rashee Rice is 14th in that category.

So Rice still had a promising rookie season, but he's not near top of the league.

He was spammed a ton of targets because he was the only decent WR on the roster. Tied for the most screen targets in the league. Lowest ADoT among WRs with 100+ targets since 2010.

Here is his success rate by route coming out of college. Andy spammed the only thing Rice was good at, and now that they have at least one or two more competent WRs in the building, his role will lessen
