love the player, love the fit, kinda nervous about the cost. we've been short on draft capital for years and there's no signs of that stopping anytime soon.

Surprised the price hasn’t come in yet. I don’t love giving up pick(s), but assuming we sign him long-term, I’m just happy that it’s young talent. Really remarkable what Ran has done for the talent level of this roster in the past six months.

I would be concerned about the compensation if it's a second, because then we're without any Day 2 picks, and deciding on whether we address the hole at Edge, or the probable hole on the OL.

It's not a third, so it's either a second or a fourth.  And I'm thinking a fourth is less than he'd cost.

A fourth and something else, maybe?

Likley to be a conditional 4th. Maybe even an 5th rounder given we need to give him a deal.

Either way, young dude to man the middle. Long term answer.

Ran and company are legit.

One way to potentially look at it is if they sign him long term, well, can just look at it as we drafted him.

The downside of course being we don't get multiple cheap years, so it's not a completely even comparison, but we also don't have to worry about him being a bust either.

While that's a good glass half full way to look at it, a closer comparison is we traded a draft pick for the privilege of signing a free agent.
