Yeah, I bet you'd want to block that one.  😂

your ability to get out to quick leads has been very impressive this year.  Huge nod to your coaching staff to do that week in and week out.  Will be interesting to see Darnold having to play from behind.  Regardless, looking at your next 7 games...hard to see the Vikings any worse than 10-2.

It'll be interesting to say the least.  This game will be a tight one, as the Lions games have been recently.  I really don't think the Lions have been significantly tested this year yet...at least not like this.  Their lone loss was to a Buccaneers team that is better than people think (although they had a really bad loss to the Broncos).

5 of the last 7 games between these 2 teams have been one-score games.  The only ones that weren't were the Nick Mullens game back in January and the game at Ford Field in December of '22 when the Lions kicked a FG with 17 seconds left to make it an 11-pt game.

The Lions, however, have won 4 of the last 5 matchups, but are still down big in the matchups all-time, as the Vikings lead that 80-43-2.

The Vikings will have to find a way to solve Detroit's offensive line, but it will also be important that we jump out to a lead to make them more one-dimensional. Offensively, it's the loss of Hutchinson will help the Vikings immensely. Especially without Davenport. They just don't have a lot of depth for pass rushers. If we keep Sam clean and upright, and Aaron Jones is able to go, I think we're going to have a very good day.

True, the loss of Hutchinson is huge for that defense, they have no one really to take his place but that secondary is much improved off last year Arnold and Rakestraw can play and Robertson is an upgrade in the slot.  DJ Reader is a massive upgrade for them at DT and McNeil/Onwuzurike are improved off last year.

I agree they need to jump out to an early lead, because if Detroit goes up 14-0 and can consistently run the ball, game over.  They have the best OL in the NFL, Sewell is arguably the best single OL in the NFL and they have the best RB duo in the NFL and arguably the best combined TE/WR/RB core in the NFL.  St. Brown and LaPorta are both elite and Jameson Williams is coming on, and Tim Patrick is a tough physical WR, and Gibbs/Montgomery are both fine pass catchers.

Aaron Jones is huge and his health, it seems to be a totally different offense if he is not in there to run the ball with his quickness and be a pass catcher out of the backfield.

Star Tribune‘s Ben Goessling tweeted Monday. “Aaron Jones is participating in the Vikings’ light practice as they return from their bye week. Good early sign for the running back after his hip injury in London. Didn’t see Blake Cashman or Harrison Phillips, though the Vikings can be cautious with a bit of a bonus day today.”

Furthermore, a source told VikingsTerritory that Jones “should be good to go” for Sunday’s game. The same source also indicated there’s almost no chance that Hockenson will play against Detroit, instead targeting Week 8 for the tight end’s return.

Edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson wasn’t the only defensive lineman the Lions lost in the big win over the Cowboys. Nose tackle Kyle Peko was injured with 7:55 remaining in the first quarter while making a tackle on Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott. Peko did not return with a pectoral injury.

On Monday, he underwent an MRI. Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that imaging confirmed a pectoral tear for Peko, an injury that is expected to end Peko’s season.
