Gotta think this vindicates Collins in a way. He wasn't wrong.

Yup.

Remember when an anonymous scout said something about how Eli Apple can't cook and everybody thought that was so ridiculous? The point he was making was that he needed to grow up and looks like he was right.

I thought he had a decent rookie season.  He even started from day one.  Amazing how quickly things went down hill with this guy.   But this entire fiasco just goes to show the Giants have no real leadership at any level on that team.   They need to rebuild from scratch.  These are the only players worth keeping, in no order.

  • Odell Beckham
  • Sterling Shepard
  • Evan Engram
  • Ereck Flowers
  • Snacks Harrison
  • Dalvin Tomlinson
  • Olivier Vernon
  • Janoris Jenkins
  • Landon Collins
  • Devon Kennard
  • BJ Goodson
  • Wayne Gallman

Then we only need 41 new players to fill out the roster

^^Apparently refused to take the field with the scout team, then 'got into it' with a coach.

Seems like he may be trying to force the team to cut him. Doubt it happens until the new coaching staff is in place.

Well, give the kid credit- at least he made his exit with class, and dignity!

"With one off-color comment and an reported outburst at practice, Eli Apple likely ended his Giants career.

The fed-up Giants suspended the troubled cornerback for the remainder of the season on Wednesday, right after he told reporters that "I gotta take a sh--" and grabbed his rear end when they attempted to get his comments on the latest turn in his feud with teammate Landon Collins.

Apple also apparently refused to work with the scout team during Wednesday's practice and got into an argument with the coaching staff, according to ESPN and NFL Network reports.

Apple's ban could be a career-altering one. His four-year, $15.1 million rookie deal as the No. 10 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft was fully guaranteed at signing, but this suspension could be used to void all remaining guarantees in his contract. There is language in his deal that will allow the Giants to do so if so inclined, according to ESPN.

If the guarantees are voided, it becomes significantly easier for the Giants to jettison Apple after this season.

Before the suspension, the Giants would have had to eat close to $9 million in dead money, and pay out about $4.3 million in combined base salary for 2018 and 2019. Now, they are only looking at about $4.6 million in dead money if the guarantees are voided. "

-Also a rumor afloat that offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan called over to guard Damien Mama, wanting him to get some reps: "Yo, Mama!"

Eli Apple flew into a rage, thinking his mother had been insulted.
