Old Guy
@Leader I believe this was your boy you wanted the Pack to get a few years back. The talent was always there, no question. Mazrimiv
A lot of time to think about it? Wasn't he the DC until a couple of days ago? Quote "After a lot of time to think about it -- I did not make this decision easily, by any means -- I'm gonna make Todd Downing the play-caller for the New York Jets going forward," Ulbrich told reporters
Mazrimiv
This is just funny. Quote Hackett will remain on staff and retain the title of offensive coordinator, Ulbrich said, but the "final say on the game plan and the play-calling" will go to Downing.

Well, his defense sees Hackett's offense every day in practice. So maybe he has had a lot of time to think about it.

Mazrimiv
It's probably true enough that telling Rogers to do whatever he wants makes the job of offensive coordinator / play callier much easier.

Not if the OC wants to be successful and have a long career. Rodgers has become such a *******, it has to be hard for any coaching staff to deal with. Not to mention the Jets pretty much declaring him a savior before he took a snap. His best days are so far in the rear-view mirror it's not funny. The irony is, he can still play but he's his own worst enemy being such a prick.

Maybe just a lot of time relative to how obvious the decision should be. Instead of taking 10 minutes he took an hour.

I kinda like how things have come full circle with Rodgers getting McCarthy fired because he felt like McCarthy was stuck 5 years in the past and now getting Saleh fired because he himself is stuck 5 years in the past. skibrett15
would you deal a 5th for Haason Reddick? Say around midseason when his cap hit would be around $7M for the rest of the year. Seems like he's pretty much between a rock and a hard place. He might be too proud to report to NYJ, but also accept that he isn't getting a new deal and his holdout is over. Might need a fresh, fresh start. Not sure if he's just a head case though. CAA just fired him as a client. Pass rush is pretty concerning to date.
