swede700
Quote Zygi (middle) is principal owner of the team; Mark (right) is the president and co-owner; Leonard is co-owner and vice chairman. How They Acquired the Franchise: The Wilfs purchased the Vikings in 2005 from Red McCombs for $600 million. The ownership group pushing for the purchase was originally led by Reggie Fowler, but Fowler ended up taking a lesser role and ultimately withdrawing from the ownership group entirely due to financial difficulties. This put the sale in peril until Zygi stepped forward as majority owner. https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/nfl-owners-guide-32-teams-franchises All you ever wanted to know about all of the NFL owners, including our team's as well...
vike daddy
The Vikings signed undrafted center J.P. Quinn on Tuesday, Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press reports. They waived tight end Josiah Price in a corresponding move. Quinn started all 13 games last season for Central Michigan. He made 11 starts at center, one at right guard and one at left guard. Price, 25, signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan State last year. The Vikings waived him before the start of the season. He had re-signed with the Vikings in March. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/07/24/vikings-sign-j-p-quinn-waive-josiah-price/ good luck, boys... Heimdallr
I didn't see this posted anywhere, but Bud Grant's son, Bruce Grant, died yesterday at the age of 57 https://www.twincities.com/2018/07/24/bruce-grant-son-of-former-vikings-coach-bud-grant-dead-at-57/ Quote Grant had been diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. He was a quarterback in the early 1980s at Minnesota Duluth, a three-year starter from 1981-83, passing for 3,690 yards and setting numerous school records as the team won 22 games in a row. RIP Make sure to listen to what your mom told you and eat your vegetables. While they can't completely prevent things like cancer and heart disease, they can certainly go a long way in warding them off.

I wish people would stop doing that. It is depressing. On the other hand, I don't want to have to live through any of my kids dying. Early-ish death would decrease my chances of having to deal with that pain. I hope Bud and the rest of the family are coping.
vike daddy
FOOTBALL OR FUTBOL? A few members of Tottenham Hotspur had a field-goal kicking competition at Vikings camp. It served as brief mental reprieve before Tuesday’s soccer match against A.C. Milan at U.S. Bank Stadium. “Obviously, the ball is shaped a bit different,” said left back Ben Davies. “It went off OK, so I was quite happy.” Goalkeeper Michel Vorm stood in front of a makeshift net as Vikings players tried their hand, or foot, in a round of penalty kicks. Only running back Latavius Murray converted, and it sure looked like Vorm let him score. “I must say they have the power,” Vorm said with a laugh. “Just the technique was not right.” https://www.twincities.com/2018/07/30/vikings-dalvin-cook-says-return-from-torn-acl-has-been-quicker-than-expected/

I once worked for an organization that handed out the Vice-President title like it was Halloween candy, but the VP's did the exact same job as when they were "Directors." I'm not sure that much of a raise, if any, came with the title.
