Mewhort is a 26 year old guard that had a starting job last season. How is that a bad bet? This isnt the MLB. We aren't paying contracts 10 years down the line. You dont see people taking contracts in the NFL and retiring right after and keeping the money. Why does he get paid when he removes himself from the league? They dont. So why do we have a penalty for it here? I thought it was stupid when Belcher offed himself and the guy couldn't remove him from roster either. Somethings need to not be in the game.
