So out of curiosity do I have to wait for McDowell to "officially" retire even though he's never going to play again? The only reason he hasn't is because of his contract's bonus.

Unfortunately yes.

At least you haven't lost 50% of your FA signing to IR before the season....

I'm going to wait to add anything to the OP until we decide if we're making a new thread.

McDowell hasn't played a single game besides one game last season. Hed be a FA cut would he not?

Well that stinks, I don't know why Footsy only used one. Speaking of which, I can revise Lewan's 3up contract to his real one still right now that he got a long term deal?

Sorry it took so long to answer this. The Answer is Yes. Footsy did an odd thing this year in that he choose to use his 3 Up on a guy eligible for a 5th year tender.  It's legal just unorthodox. In this case it will allow you to mirror Lewan's new deal at the 2018 3 Up rate of 85% of his new contract.

Which would look like this.

NFL Deal = $88,500/6 years ($14,750/yr)

New 3 Up BDL deal would look like this

$77,225/6 years ($12,538/yr)

So it would be a substantial increase over his current $7,940/1 year deal. But is your call.

Otherwise you could wait and use another 3 Up next year for the same value but 5 years.

OL isn't as top heavy as last year - not as strong at the top, but definitely has the depth to withstand injuries this year.

Skill position injuries are what will derail the season this year I fear. Every other position we're well equipped to go 2-3 down and still trot out reasonable BDL starters.
