swede700
Quote The Packers held onto Letroy Guion longer than some teams would have. But his pre-training camp DUI in Hawaii was apparently an eventual last straw. The Packers announced they released the veteran defensive tackle Tuesday. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/08/08/packers-cut-defensive-tackle-letroy-guion/
SteelKing728
Didn't Zimmer say back in 2014 that Guion was lacking mentally as a football player, thus the reason not to re-sign him? If so, I think it was a good call on his part.

swede700
Quote The Pro Football Hall of Fame Seniors Committee named former Houston Oilers linebacker Robert Brazile and former Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Jerry Kramer as senior finalists for the 2018 Hall of Fame Class. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000833969/article/kramer-brazile-named-senior-finalists-for-hof-class It's about time...at least now that should open the door for Jim Marshall...without the spectre of having Kramer hanging over his head. swede700
Quote According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Packers have agreed to a one-year deal with former 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks that could be worth up to $5 million. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/08/30/report-packers-reach-a-deal-with-ahmad-brooks/ Tells you how dire the LB depth is in Cheeseland that they sign a guy cut by the Niners. The Gnat
I actually like it's a solid signing. Yes the Packers do need LB's, but Brooks is a 3-4 LB, and with the 49er's going away from that, they went away from Brooks.
vike daddy
The Packers signed linebacker Ahmad Brooks last week and they’ve added another former member of the 49ers defense. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Packers have signed defensive lineman Quinton Dial. Dial was released by the 49ers over the weekend and paid the Packers a visit on Monday. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/09/05/packers-sign-quinton-dial/
vike daddy
At a time when the Packers are looking for reliable receiving targets, one of the ones they thought they could count on has been less than reliable. Veteran tight end Martellus Bennett is off to a slow start to his Packers career, and they could use him since it seems all their receivers are hurt at once. But Sunday night against the Falcons, he didn’t offer much help, with four dropped passes among an unspectacular stat line (five receptions for 47 yards, on 11 targets). He also was guilty of an offensive pass interference, which wiped out a 36-yard pass to Randall Cobb. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/09/19/martellus-bennett-having-a-fundamental-problem-with-drops/
SteelKing728
I'll always root against GB, but I never want to see their players get injured.

vike daddy
Via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, the Packers put another tackle on injured reserve, with tackle Kyle Murphy going there Tuesday with a foot injury. He started the opener at right tackle and the last two weeks at left tackle. He’s the third tackle to go on IR for the Packers this year, joining Jason Spriggs and Don Barclay. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/09/26/packers-put-another-tackle-on-injured-reserve-their-third-this-year/ losing three tackles in one season, that sounds familiar. vike daddy
Coach Mike McCarthy said at a Monday press conference that Rodgers will have surgery on his broken right collarbone at an unnamed time in the near future. McCarthy repeated the team’s feeling from Sunday that the injury may be season-ending and the results of the surgery could be a determining factor in Rodgers’ chances of coming back. Rodgers did not have surgery when he broke his left collarbone in 2013 and returned after missing seven games, although that’s obviously a very different case than this one. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/10/16/aaron-rodgers-to-have-surgery/
SteelKing728
Maybe his return, if even possible is dependent on the teams success. If they're mathmatically eliminated from the playoffs, then IR him. If they're still alive, bring him back at the end of the year.
TENINCH
Best wishes for Rodgers recovery. The only solace I can take in this is that when he comes back he'll be another year older. Father time is the only thing that's going to slow him down.Look forward to the days I can look back on his playing time and thank the football gods we don't have to deal with an Aaron Rodgers twice a year. Probably have to wait another 4 to 5 years but I'm ready whenever he decides to hang it up.

Hopefully they don't find another good QB for a long time, give them a taste of what MN has dealt with.
